Northvolt has an exciting job offer for a Sourcing Manager Metals and Raw Materials to join our passionate team in Stockholm.
In joining us you will play an important part from the very start in building one of the first large scale battery factories in Europe. Northvolt will play an important role in the transformation to a carbon free society.
The Manager Metals and Raw Materials will be driving technical and commercial projects related to the purchases of metals / raw materials (Ni, Co, Li, Mn). As part of the Raw Material team you will have direct influence over critical purchases of raw materials, which are heavily contributing to the success of Northvolt’s operations in Sweden and beyond. You will report to the Director of Cathode Raw Materials.
The candidate we are looking for has significant commodity experience in the metals market and worked both with technical and commercial projects in a capital intensive industry. You hold a good understanding of financial instruments and have negotiation experience.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Take an active role in articulating and execute on our long-term Raw Material strategy and develop a supply base that fits Northvolt’s need in terms of quality, reliability, competitiveness and sustainability values.
- Work closely with suppliers as well as internal stakeholders to understand commercial opportunities, drive internal alignment and negotiate and enter into strategic relationships and contracts to secure our future growth.
- Develop, own and execute a road map of projects aimed at optimising the cost and the supply flexibility of our raw material purchases.
- Drive sustainability projects with suppliers.

Skills & Requirements
Education/Experience
- A Masters degree in Engineering, Business or other relevant University Degree
- 7+ years working experience
- Successful track record in technical and commercial/financial roles in the commodities industry
- Strong technical and/or commercial background
- Experience in multi-cultural environment
- Experience and interest in manufacturing industry and/or start up environment is a plus
Specific Skills/Abilities
- Excellent English written and oral skills, Swedish, French, Chinese or Spanish is a plus
- Excellent technical understanding
- Good understanding of commercial drivers in the commodities market
- Strong negotiation skills
- Experience in strategic supplier development, such as Joint Ventures or localisation projects, is a plus.
- Team player
- Proactive and eager to learn with a 'can do attitude'
- Highly organised with excellent time management skills
- Ability to work in a high profile and often high-pressure international environment with tight deadlines- comfortable to present and defend a project or a business case to top management
