We are looking for a (Senior) Program Manager – Utility Infrastructure to join us bringing Northvolt to Germany. The role is a part of our stellar project team based in Hamburg with an outreach to our planned Gigafactory in Heide, Schleswig-Holstein. By joining us, you will be at the forefront of building up a green energy cluster from scratch, placing Northvolts next Gigafactory in the heart of the German energy transition and contribute to building one of the largest and most sustainable European battery factories.

About the job
You drive the concept, development and deployment of the utility infrastructure for our planned Gigafactory in Heide, being closely aligned with other industrial projects in the region. You work closely with our factory planning team and execute the project closely collaborating with the authorities and the community. This means working in a highly cross-functional environment and acting as an intrapreneur in a fast-paced environment.

As a (Senior) Program Manager – Utility Infrastructure, you will be responsible to design, plan and deliver the needed utility infrastructure to the site. You have the opportunity to drive the buildup of a lighthouse green Energy cluster in Germany and grow this project almost from day one.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for designing a resource efficient and sustainable energy and utility ecosystem for a large-scale battery cell factory
  • Coordinate project scopes with our talented colleagues from Construction and Engineering (electricity, heat, cooling, water, wastewater)
  • Coordinate scope with strategic partners, authorities and the community as well as third parties/vendors for each part of the scope
  • Support team in technical problem solving when required
  • Lead team of energy and utility experts

Skills & Requirements

We believe that you have :

  • Engineering degree (B.Sc. / M.Sc. or similar)
  • Broad industrial experience including permitting processes required; green-field project experience
  • 10+ years relevant project management experience with proven track record in energy-intense industries like oil and gas or chemical engineering
  • Fluency in German language, fluent in (technical) English preferred but not required
  • Experience working with MS Office incl. MS project
