You will join the Business Sweden team in Vietnam, which is a part of the Southeast Asia (SEA) Market Area – a key region within Business Sweden that operates from six local offices. SEA is one of six Market Areas, and our main focus is to grow the advisory part of our business. We work across many different industries with the aim to grow global sales for leading Swedish companies and to attract high-level investments to Sweden creating measurable impact.
We are looking for candidates who will play a critical role in leading projects related to commercial excellence and revenue growth.
Sweden has had a long relationship with Vietnam and in 1969, it was the first Western country that established diplomatic relations with the country. Swedish exports consist mostly of engineered products, particularly machinery and industrial equipment, as well as medical and pharmaceutical products. However, export is still relatively modest and there is a lot of growth potential, especially since a free-trade agreement between the EU and Vietnam was signed and ratified in 2020, which due to the effects of the Covid19 pandemic has been difficult to leverage for Swedish and Vietnamese companies. Currently there are about 60 Swedish-related companies present in Vietnam.
What do we expect from you?
You will scope, lead and deliver projects that provide support to leading Swedish companies in their international business development and expansion. The projects you will lead include sales acceleration, market entry and growth strategies, sourcing collaboration, market and stakeholder analysis, business partner and target screenings. You will also liaise with Vietnamese public stakeholders, such as politicians and agency directors, in promoting Swedish solutions for mega-deals and public procurements.
You will be involved in business development activities, where tasks include identifying new business opportunities, as well as prospecting, contacting new potential clients, setting up sales meetings (including with local Swedish subsidiaries), and participating in developing solutions and closing the deal.
We already have a strong team in place in Hanoi led by Sweden’s Trade Commissioner Designate to Vietnam, while we are simultaneously building a new strong team in Ho Chi Minh City, overseen by one of Business Sweden’s most experienced project managers. Both offices will be working as one Vietnam team, supporting each-other. We set the bar high for applicants’ aptitude in analyzing market drivers, interacting with senior corporate leaders, and managing the sometimes challenging local landscape.
We currently have two open positions, one role as a consultant based in Ho Chi Minh City and one Senior consultant/Junior Project Manager in Hanoi, but you would be expected to work with our teams and clients across SEA, Asia, and the world, as required.
Who are we looking for?
You have a higher academic degree, preferably a Master of Science in Business, Administration and/or Engineering.
We believe you have a background as a management consultant and relevant work experience for 2-4 years.
You have experience from both project management and complex analytical work, with a strong drive to continuously learn and develop your skills.
You have experience from and a deep understanding of sales of professional services and enjoy sales challenges.
Experience from working in international organizations or working, living or studying abroad is an advantage, as you always will be working in an international team setting.
Experience from working with trade facilitation and promotion is an advantage.
You have the ability to interact with both government and private sector stakeholders, and as an individual, you are results-oriented, analytical and adaptable.
Social and team-working skills are highly valued as well as passion for growing Sweden and an ability to handle new challenges.
A high level of proficiency in both written and spoken English and Vietnamese is a requirement
