What you can expect
We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer with Technical and Management skills in the area of business intelligence, data warehousing, testing, reporting, and analytics.
As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for the analysis, creation, and support of data pipelines. You will have excellent development experience and drive outstanding software creations to help our clients derive value from their internal and external sources of data. You must be able to engage with business and IT stakeholders and articulate solutions at various levels. Some of your assignments will be concerned with the architecture and design of solutions e.g. data warehouse and data migration projects, which require data integration experience.
Finally, you must be able to work closely with our clients and demonstrate individual functional and professional knowledge to ensure that the work products and deliverables are of the highest caliber. As a member of a project team, you will need to apply team management expertise to identify, develop, and implement techniques to improve engagement productivity, increase efficiencies, mitigate risks, resolve issues, and optimize cost savings and efficiencies.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Designing data flows, data models, data stores and data sets, mapping rules, as well as access mechanisms
Designing and developing the “logical” and “physical” data models and data stores
Industrializing the feeding and deliveries from the integrated data stores, as Datawarehouse, DataMart’s, data sets
Creating and supporting real-time data pipelines
Building and operating highly available, distributed systems of data extraction, ingestion, and processing of large data sets
Analyzing user requirements to inform application design
Identifying the best data sources, analyzing and defining application objectives and functionality while taking into consideration business and technical perspective
Developing, testing software, and resolving technical issues
What we expect from you
Requirements:
Solid expertise in at least three of the following technologies: Snowflake, MongoDB, SAP, Oracle, SQL, Postgres, Pentaho, Informatica, Big Data, Python (+ SciPy/Pandas/SciKitLearn), R, Scala, Excel (+VBA), Bash Scripting, Clojure (+ Cascalog), HMTL5 (+ D3/Bootstrap/Yeoman), Spark, Azure, AWS
Ability to independently work through all development cycle from requirement understanding, data analysis, design & development, testing, and release management
Deep understanding of complex system flows and ability to perform extensive data analysis, document functional and technical data flows and translate business requirements as necessary for the project team
Expertise in designing and developing rapid techo-functional solutions and deriving insight from large datasets for business requirements
Hands-on experience in working on Datawarehouse Applications Familiarity with Master Data Management, Data Harmonization, and Data Governance
Strong ability to consultatively engage with customers in an agile context to capture and translate expectations into technical requirements, including efficiently defining features and user stories
Experience in banking, risk management, or financial services
Pro-active mindset combined with superb analytical and synthesis skills
Team player attitude with the ability to work within a multicultural context and in a distributed delivery model with part of the team working in offshore locations
Fluency in English (German or French would be considered as a plus)
