Do you want to shape the future of Norway’s biggest live sport platform, VG live?

Sports team is part of Schibsted’s Media Product & Technology division and responsible for VG Live (Norway) and Aftonbladet Målservice (Sweden) services, as well as the Sports data API platform. VG Live holds the leading position for live scores and statistics in Norway, serving more than 600 000 users on major match days. Although Målservice is younger than VG live, the team aims to take the same position in Sweden.

We are looking for an Engineering Manager who can lead the team shaping the live sports experience of tomorrow. The team is distributed between Oslo and Krakow and consists of 6 software engineers that would report to you, 1 Product Manager and 1 UX Designer. The sports team is a young and highly dynamic team, with an average age of under 30, composed of members from Norway, Finland, Poland, France and Spain.

Here is a taste of what you will do:

  • Manage a team of Software Engineers delivering live sports services using Node.js, React, AWS and k8s
  • Advocate and advance modern software development practises
  • Collaborate with designer & product manager on killer features that will drive our intended outcomes
  • Continuously improve both the team and yourself
  • Help build robust, scalable systems and processes to ensure performance and quality
  • Collaborate with both internal stakeholders, such as Aftonbladet and VG, as well as external sports data providers
  • Attract, onboard, and retain diverse top talent
