We are looking for a passionate and experienced IQC manager to join us in our mission to contribute to a greener future. The role is part of our Quality Control team at Northvolt Labs, based in Västerås, Sweden. By joining us, you will be a key player in building up and being responsible for the incoming quality control processes of our R&D and Labs battery cell production lines and ultimately contribute towards making oil history.
About the job
As IQC manager, you will lead all incoming quality control inspections of all raw materials, chemicals, components and parts as well as be involved in hands-on cell production line investigations related to the incoming materials. In this role, we expect you to have an analytical mindset and a hands-on approach to your tasks. You enjoy hands-on work in the laboratory, teaching and sharing your knowledge across the team to build up competence, and can effectively collaborate across group boundaries (Production Technology, R&D, Supplier Quality, Logistics, etc.) to continuously improve our incoming quality control processes and testing capabilities in the laboratory.
About the team
You will be joining and be a part of the Quality Control team at Northvolt Labs. Our QC team, currently composed of 25 dedicated laboratory technicians, analytical chemists and engineers, area managers is working on all aspects of battery cell production quality inspections and investigations. You will have access to a fully equipped laboratory with high-end analytical instruments that cover both chemical and mechanical testing capabilities. You will play a key role in building up incoming materials inspections and processes within the team and the wider company.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to :
- Responsible for all incoming quality control processes and inspections to ensure that all materials entering our different production lines are meeting the required specifications.
- Continuously drive to improve IQC process flows as well as be hands-on and collaborate across teams to address bottlenecks, investigate and resolve issues and improve IQC related workflows.
- Responsible to manage a team of IQC technicians, ensure enough team members are trained to perform incoming inspections, good people and leadership skills, challenges and helps team members to grow and develop in their role.
- Drive MSA and validation studies, as well as searching, validating and implementing new inspection methods and technologies together with potential suppliers.
- Have a data driven approach and analytical mindset, insist on answers and solutions that can be substantiated by data and/or engineering tests, avoiding the trap of finding a root cause driven by timelines instead of science.

Skills & Requirements
We believe that you have :
- MSc in a related field (Industrial Engineering, Materials Science/Engineering, Mechanical/Chemical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, etc.)
- At least 2+ years of industry experience working on topics and tasks related to IQC/Supplier Quality/Customer Quality.
- At least 2+ years of leadership and management experience.
- Strong experience with SPC, FMEA, Quality troubleshooting tools and problem-solving methodologies.
- Proven track record in statistical and measurement system analysis (MSA) or validation studies in a laboratory or production environment.
- Specific knowledge of quality management systems, e.g. ISO 9001, IATF16949, TQM as well as Lean and six sigma.
- Experience from automotive business or as a supplier to automotive business is an advantage together with experience of SC CC for components and what it means for quality controls and PPAP.

- Experience and interest in manufacturing industry
- Fluency in other languages (Japanese, Swedish, Chinese, French)
