Northvolt has an exciting job offer for a formation & aging / Assembly process engineer to join our bold team in Västerås, Sweden.
In joining us you will play an important part from the very start in building one of the first large scale European battery factories. Northvolt will play an important role in the transformation to a carbon free society.
We are looking for a process engineer to focus on the formation and aging / Assembly process area. The role will require deep knowledge in process design, equipment handling, maintenance planning and control design etc. You must also have necessary skills to interface with equipment suppliers and to collaborate with Northvolt factory design teams to develop new methodologies or improve current formation and aging / Assembly process leading to efficient process designs and support industrialisation of our technology.
You will play an important role in driving innovative solutions to technical challenges that will lead to improvements in yield, cost, quality or efficiency of the process and relevant experience is desirable.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Develop and issue process designs(Assembly and Formation) as well as providing engineering support to production team.
- Establish process metrics and goals
- Creating, processing, visualising and analysing datasets.
- Data driven planning and execution of process DOEs.
- Implement and support standardised process for industrialisation.
- Investigate and implement plans to apply novel process technologies.

Skills & Requirements
Education/Experience
Degree in engineering, natural science, or similar field
Engineering foundation with understanding in electrical, mechanical, and chemical domains
Statistics, data analysis and visualisation
Excellent English written and oral communication skills. Other language skills are a plus Personality
Strong organisational skills and used to manage a range of activities simultaneously
Analytical thinking & common sense
Strong sense of responsibility, and ownership
Have plenty of grit, a can-do attitude, a great eye for detail, a sense of humor and a curious mind
