We are now looking for a highly skilled technical project manager to join the team. The project manager in Hurtigruten Expedition is responsible for planning, engineering, coordination, execution, and overall management of all physical ITOT maintenance tasks and new build/refurbishment projects for the fleet. The ideal candidate will have production experience as well as strong planning and oversight skills.

Skills & Requirements

A key objective of the projects Hurtigruten execute, is to elevate our ability to deliver a world-leading guest experience. The ITOT components of these projects play an integral part in making this a reality. Our project manager will need to cover the entire spectrum from “under the hood” ITOT infrastructure deliverables that enable everything on top to flow, to end-user entertainment systems both high above and below sea level.

Getting to know our products and our fleet will be a natural prerequisite for the project manager’s work. You will report to the VP of Group IT and will get to experience our ships first hand, cultivate relationships between landside and seaside organisations, as well as ITOT and the other business areas in Hurtigruten.

Objectives of this Role

  • Be hands-on in projects from requirements definition through deployment, identifying schedules, scopes, budget estimations, procurement, and project implementation plans, including risk mitigation.
  • Coordinate internal and external resources, ensuring projects remain within scope, schedule, and defined budgets, in collaboration with project staff from various departments.
  • Develop project team to ensure maximum performance, providing purpose, direction and motivation.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with appropriate client stakeholders, providing day-to-day contact on project status and changes.
  • Improve delivery of projects by systematically acting on lessons learned and enable the transfer of knowledge and improvements between colleagues and from each project to the next.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain processes to manage scope over the project lifecycle.
  • Set project quality and performance standards, assess and manage risks within, and across, multiple projects.
  • Contribute to early-stage ideation and development of concepts into full-fledged business cases, in line with ITOT operational needs and strategic objectives.
  • Execute procurement in projects in line with established procurement standards and requirements in Hurtigruten.
  • Monitor and assign resources appropriately to streamline project efficiency and maximize deliverable outputs.
  • Report project outcomes and/or risks to the appropriate management channels as needed—escalating issues as necessary based on project work plans.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Relevant IT degree.
  • 5+ years project management experience.
  • Strong understanding of maritime regulations and culture.
  • Hands-on experience with developing technologies and platforms for maximum usability.
  • Flexible, collaborative, independent, and transformative.
  • Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Procurement process experience including large procurements.
  • Hands-on experience working with ships, shipyards, or offshore.
