Design Coordinator - Construction

As Design Coordinator you will coordinate specialists, procure technical consultants and other functions of the project with a view to obtain a good and thorough submission. You will coordinate and develop the schedules of the contracts based on the design, reporting to the project's central scheduling. You are responsible for the co-projected design of the subproject and the preparation of a prospectus.

This role will work closely with the Head of Construction from pre construction all the way to practical completion. You get the unique opportunity to be part of building the design team of Northvolt.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Development of methods and design solutions
  • Monitoring and balancing resources within your area
  • Securing fulfillment of deliverables in regards to time and technical cost

Skills & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree within relevant areas or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 10+ years of experience in Design Management and Project management/Planning of major industrial projects involving a combination of most technology areas.

  • Besides career long experience within the design field a theoretical knowledge in project management is especially valued.

  • Proficiency in MS Excel, MS PowerPoint etc as well as in industry-specific time schedule programs and drawing management software for 3D design.

  • Strong skills in AB, ABT, ABK and knowledge about Bas-P and Bas-U.

  • Excellent English - written and oral skills. Any additional languages skills are a plus.

  • Great communication skills as you will be in constant interaction with team members and external parties such as authorities and auditors.

  • Experience from, and motivated to, setting up work methods and procedures from scratch, work with process evaluation and documentation.

  • High work ethic, multi-tasker, strong analytical ability and attention to details, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience from working in an international environment and/or startup environment is especially valued.

About the company

Northvolt was founded in 2016 with the mission to build the world’s greenest battery cell, with a minimal carbon footprint and the highest ambitions for recycling, to enable the European transition to renewable energy. Northvolt’s team of experts is building the next generation battery cell factory focused on process innovation, scale and vertical integration.
