  • Stockholm

Mentimeter’s vision is to transform presentations and meetings into fun and interactive experiences by making it easy to listen and to be heard. We believe in giving everyone a voice, in every meeting and presentation. We are building a modern, friendly, and diverse product-first tech company based in Stockholm and we want you to join us!

To succeed in our mission to create a great product experience we are building out a world class Product Design Team - that can lead us into the unknown future of the Mentimeter product, fueled by our desire to challenge tomorrow’s presentation and meeting experiences. We already have a great team in place and we want to continue to learn and evolve as we grow.

We are looking for a Director of Product Design - Core Product to join our growing team. Being a design leader at Mentimeter means you play a big part in shaping our team, the way we work, how we define our roles and how we help people grow and succeed, while coaching the crafting of the product experience together with our partners in Product and Engineering.

The Director of Product Design role

As Director of Product Design, you are responsible for the product design and product designers of a product area. There are currently two product areas at Mentimeter - Core Product and Commercial, this position is within the Core Product area.

The Core Product area currently consists of five product teams, each with its own product manager, product designer and tech lead. You will be leading the product designers and make sure we craft amazing products and features that users love and that align with our business goals.

The role has equal focus on three dimensions:

  • Hiring and coaching designers in our core product teams

  • Strategic design focus - partnering with Product & Engineering Leadership

  • Part of Design leadership - evolving and driving improvements within the design function

We strongly believe in the power of the empowered product team, and we are building an organisation and processes to ensure a high level of alignment, focus on outcomes and contextual support from leadership to enable great work to happen.

Succeeding in this role means a few things:

  • Being a servant leader and coach to the designers working in your team - helping them succeed and grow as individuals and team players

  • Facilitating and guiding the strategic dimensions of product experience design to help guide the product into the unknown realms of engaging interactions

  • Role modeling and empowering the collaboration and partnership that is the foundation of the cross-functional team.

  • Actively being part of - as well as inspiring others to contribute - the always improving ways of working in the design craft, from Design Critique best practices to inspirational perspectives on the craft of Design, and everything in between

The Mentimeter Product organisation is in constant motion and evolves continuously as we grow. The same will be true for this role, so if you like to be part of shaping the future for your own role as well as the team and organisation, this is a role for you.

Work with great people

Front-end Developer
"Dog videos vs. Cat videos is the ever ongoing fight of Internet. Soner has clearly picked a side: Doggos. The cuter and hairier the better."
Business Development Director - Sales
"All the way from Italian metropolitan via small town of Switzerland to Stockholm to be a part of the Menti-family. It's like it was written in the stars (check the cancer sign)."
Product Manager
"Anna is a Stockholmer and a part of the Mentimeter KTH alumni crew. When she's not innovating at Mentimeter, she's doing jumping jacks on the handball court or partying in the USA."
Head of Brand
"As a kid Carl wanted to be a fashion designer, but ended up doing the next best thing - branding and PR. When he's not at Menti he's touring Sweden with his cover band (apparently they're terrible)."

  • have a passion for and experience in managing, coaching and mentoring designers

  • are an engaged and proactive contributor to the design craft from a leadership perspective

  • have experience from deep partnerships with Product and Engineering peers - preferably both on individual contributor and leadership level

  • naturally use insights throughout the design process - to understand, ideate, validate and iterate

  • proactively communicate with stakeholders and team members, through verbal communication as well as presentations

  • want to be part of a fast-growing organization and continuously work with (re)shaping the ways of working needed to ensure we stay agile and autonomous while scaling

  • are well aligned with our core values and want to be a part of making sure we stay true to these as we grow (read more about our values on mentimeter.com/jobs)
