About the role: We looking for a MEST evangelist to spread the word about our mission and help us find the continent’s most promising entrepreneurs! This role will be critical to spreading awareness about the program and forming valuable relationships with communities across Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa and Cote d’Ivoire, who we can tap each year to help us find the next group of talented entrepreneurs.
This experienced field marketer and recruiter will lead our international marketing, communications and recruitment activities, with a strong focus on increasing awareness around MEST in order to attract strong student and faculty candidates. This person will lead international marketing, as well as all recruitment logistics for incoming students across Africa, and internationally for incoming faculty. Critical to this role is the responsibility of overseeing all recruitment-related communications and logistics, from soliciting applications to final student and staff onboarding.
MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS
This role will work alongside the internal communications manager to ensure all MEST collateral, communications and events are well publicized and remain on brand
Relationship building among local universities, tech hubs, community centers, churches and other groups will be key to continually attracting new talent
The primary goal will be to raise awareness about the program and solicit quality applicants.
Responsibilities may include:
Collateral: developing and maintaining assets needed for marketing and recruitment
Website: Maintaining and updating corporate website (Wordpress experience a plus)
Email marketing and management (Mailchimp experience a plus)
Content creation: including blogs, newsletters, social media, press releases, case studies, interviews, photography, videos, webinars and other relevant assets
PR: manage press relationships, send out press releases and organize press events
Partnerships: work with management team to provide necessary assets for existing partnerships; seek out new partnership opportunities
Reporting: monthly/quarterly MarComms Report for management team
Event management: logistics, asset creation and local awareness efforts around all recruitment events, from info sessions to hackathons to interviews
Prospective students: Create, manage and execute on marketing & PR strategy to recruit student (EIT) recruitment targeting GH, NG, KE, SA & IC
New staff: work with Meltwater global team, alum, international universities, tech hubs and other sources to increase MEST brand awareness and recruit qualified applicants
Logistics: Logistical support for management team throughout recruitment process
Applicant screening & final onboarding
