We are looking for an enthusiastic and competent Internal control specialist to support our growing finance team. In joining us you will play an important role from the very start in building the first large scale European battery factories. Northvolt will play an important role in the transformation to a carbon free society.

Some of the key duties include developing ICFR framework, policies and procedures, ensuring their implementation and monitoring compliance. You will act as the “go-to” person for processes and internal controls and provide support to business leaders, process and controls owners

Ultimately, you’ll help maintain our company’s financial health and control environment and make sure we use our resources beneficially. You will gain increasing experience as the company grows whilst utilising and help develop the best technology and processes for a lean finance function.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develop ICFR framework together with Director of internal control
  • Participate in project related to the development and implementation of global processes and controls
  • Facilitate walkthrough processes to ensure the company’s internal controls are designed and operating effectively
  • Work with business leaders to drive the development and implementation of efficient and effective processes and controls across the organization
  • Develop process documentation including policies, communications, process flowcharts/narratives, risk and controls matrix and identification of entity level, key and standard controls
  • Coordinate with Process and Controls Owners to provide guidance on control design, operating effectiveness, nature and degree of supporting evidence to validate the execution of controls and effective monitoring of controls
  • Work closely with IT department to maximize integration of business processes and IT general and application controls
  • Lead implementation of GRC tool
  • Coordinate/lead training programs as it relates to internal controls compliance
  • Develop the test scripts for the test of controls
  • Perform periodic self-assessment and reporting to Management
  • Provide updates on the progress of the overall internal controls program including scope, project activities, training programs, deficiencies, and remediation activities, etc
  • Optimize the effectiveness of internal controls
  • Stay current to changes in regulatory guidance, industry standard methodologies, data analytics and process mining

Skills & Requirements

We believe that you have :

  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in Audit or accounting or similar
  • Degree in accounting, business or similar. Professional qualifications ACCA, ACA, CISA, CIA or similar are a merit
  • Experience of working at in similar roles in large organizations, Big 4 audit firms, or other consulting firm, is highly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of the internal control framework and a solid understanding of the concepts of control design and operational efficiency
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and K3

Specific skills:

  • High level of energy and enthusiasm to work in a fast moving business
  • Able to work independently and drive issues to conclusion with a sense of ownership to deliver
  • Experience with ERP systems; Dynamics365 experience is preferred.
  • Able to work well with others in a team environment
  • Effective communication skills
  • Highly accurate and detail oriented
  • Business language of Northvolt is English. Swedish is a plus.
