Intro:

Want to make an impact with your code for millions of users for some of Denmark’s most well known brands?

And do you want to grow your competencies in one of the most agile companies in Denmark?

Schibsted Denmark is now hiring a native app developer.

Work in a startup-like environment

We work in cross functional teams that are empowered to make decisions as a team in how to reach a business target. The team uses Agile methodologies and they release to production as often as they like. This they do so users can immediately benefit from the work being done and the team can learn about our users’ behavior.

The Role

We believe you are a native app developer with a few years’ hands-on experience of native app development working in a team.

You are able to independently lead the development of new features, and enjoy discussing and debating code and solutions with your peers. You like sharing your knowledge with your team and everyone else who is interested, and above all, you are curious and continuously strive to learn new things. We are often working in pairs or mobs so collaboration is key. We are passionate about producing phenomenal quality and are constantly improving, testing new tools and spending time on training, pairing, mob programming etc.

As a native app developer you will work with tech and business people to build a state of the art app focusing on both technical performance and phenomenal UI. Among other things that means participating in our on-going journey to move our tech stack within the apps forward, where we e.g. are in the process of adopting SwiftUI and Jetpack Compose.

As part of our development team you will be:

  • Working with the latest technologies available on the platforms and surrounded by some of the country’s best developers

  • Building apps our customers love

  • Writing tests which verify the app in a Continuous Deployment process

  • Helping continuously to improve development work in all areas (coding, processes, tools, testing, etc.)

  • Joining our mobile guild to participate on our ongoing journey to improve and optimize our mobile tech stack

Qualifications

You are a curious software engineer with a good knowledge of what it means to work with large and/or distributed systems.

The person we are looking for has good experience with either Android or iOS, and has an open mind for learning the other platform, if not known already.

Other Qualifications:

  • iOS development using Swift and Objective C

  • Android development using Kotlin and Java

  • Experience with using Rest APIs

  • Agile methodologies

  • Building great products
