Job Description

As the Director, Brand Strategy, you will manage and develop Meltwater’s brand strategy and messaging for both the master brand and our Centers of Excellence. This role is responsible for crafting business strategies that raise brand awareness, drive customer growth, improve brand positioning, and generate revenue.

Reporting to the VP Corporate Marketing, you will drive the development and ongoing refinement of our corporate narrative and visual systems to create a compelling and consistent brand across all touchpoints. You will work with key stakeholders across Corporate Strategy, Marketing, Communications, and Product on value props, benefit statements, and messaging pillars to build an innovative, engaging, and category-defining brand.

The role requires a creative thinker and strong brand strategist who can bring new ideas to the company, collaborate across the marketing function, and flawlessly execute on multiple priority projects.

What You’ll Do

  • Champion research to assess current brand positioning, competitive landscapes, industry trends, and market share in order to develop a strong sense of strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities to improve brand awareness and positioning.

  • Craft a refined and elevated brand position, architecture, and story, and inspire how it is communicated across segments and marketing communications.

  • Establish and continually evaluate KPIs that benchmark brand equity; identify growth and positioning opportunities

  • Create and operationalize standards, processes, and resources to mature brand stewardship and governance across the company.

  • Build a deep understanding of our target audience segments to inform strategies and optimal investment levels.

  • Oversee the holistic design approach for Meltwater. Lead the creative team through a brand refresh and own the ongoing evolution of a cohesive and differentiated brand identity that embodies our mission, values, and culture.

  • Partner with regional leads to localize the brand for our EMEA and APAC regions, and develop documentation on region-specific brand strategy elements

  • Lead the operationalization of brand strategies for acquired companies.

  • Serve as a key thought partner with leaders across the organization to offer strategic perspective and guide implementation.

Skills & Requirements

What You Have

  • 7+ years experience in marketing, strategy, or planning roles within a large B2B and/or B2C brand

  • Expertise in brand strategy, strategic thinking & framing, and opportunity assessment

  • Experience working with multi-division organizations with separate target audiences for each business unit

  • An excellent communicator and compelling storyteller, including experience presenting to - and being accountable for feedback from - with senior leaders

  • Ability to operate at both a strategic and executional level; ideate and directly execute

  • Highly adaptable and fluid, able to quickly learn about new businesses and customer segments

  • Collaborative to the core; you know how to build solid relationships across departments and with key stakeholders
