Role? Full Stack Developer to lead frontend development for our OIKOTIE Core Services & Integrations team: developing centralized services to support business verticals on their road to success. As we are at the beginning of an architecture renewal of the platform, it’s more than great timing to hop on!
You? Experience in both frontend (UI/UX) and backend (integrations, APIs and databases) environments.
Tech stack? Vue.js or React, NodeJS, TypeScript, relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL/MySQL). Services run in AWS.
Company? Schibsted, the product company, gathering together Oikotie, Tori, Rakentaja & Sähkövertailu. Over 250 colleagues in Finland and 5000 in the Nordics want to steer innovation to empower the millions of people interacting with us in their daily lives.
Location? Our office is located a few steps away from the Helsinki railway station. Our future is hybrid so you can be based anywhere in Finland! Currently, our squad is spread between Helsinki, Tampere and Oulu!

Responsibilities & projects
As a member of our growing tech squad, you lead frontend solutions and also take part in developing the backend platform of core services and integrations. You join our team which is externally responsible for Oikotie site, consumers of Schibsted accounts and Oikotie platforms - APIs for recruiters and realtors who upload their listings. Internally, we maintain administrative tools and collaborate with Oikotie Jobs & Real Estate as well as Tori. Our team is responsible for multiple projects with different technologies and approaches, so you are able to jump from one sandbox to another and have some variation to your everyday tasks.
On top of that, you join the platform modernisation project with the goal to replace the legacy stack, so your expertise is welcomed when designing this roadmap. Also, you definitely contribute to our newest feature on the agenda - Schibsted accounts for Oikotie marketplace users.
Our tech stack is being modernised and the weapons available to you include but are not limited to Vue.js or React, NodeJS, TypeScript. Also, APIs and frontend UI/UX, our serverless environments run in the AWS. You may have some other ammunition on your belt and we are happy to evaluate them.
During your first six months, we expect you to get on board, settle in the team, gradually take over your role and collaboratively start delivering on the front and back ends. Further down the road, you will have a variety of specializations to lean towards regarding your work tasks (frontend, backend, databases, AWS).

Our Core Services & Integrations team consists of Development Manager Miro, Product Manager Mona and a bunch of very experienced backend-oriented developers: Olli, Pepe, Juha & Jussi. There is a lot of experience within the team, we are open-minded, always ready to share our knowledge and to learn new things.
This is how we go about our work: we plan and prioritize efficiently, discuss and decide technical details and then focus on implementation. Everyone works both independently and as a part of the team, so you will get and give help when needed. For things outside our expertise, such as designs, we collaborate with a cross-functional designer team. The collaboration is all around us and that’s how the company grows!

2. 75 min technical interview with a few colleagues from the team ( get to know each other & the daily work and understand your skillset better)
3. 45 min chat with the Head of Engineering Pasi ( Tech team overall ) and 30 min with the recruiter Venla ( company culture, values & learning and development)
