What you will be up to

As a Strategic Business Developer you will be key in driving some of Blocket’s most important projects. Your overarching objective will be to define and realise Blocket's ambitious strategy. To achieve this you will work together with the small yet powerful Strategy team and work across all Blocket’s verticals (Generalist, Motor, Job, Real Estate) as well as functions (Finance, Sales, Marketing, Customer, Product & Tech).

Your responsibilities include:

  • Lead cross-functional projects related to strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), market landscaping and data analysis

  • Create and present business cases for strategic decisions

  • Contribute to Blocket's yearly strategy process

  • Contribute to projects on a Nordic level in collaboration with Schibsted Nordic Marketplaces

  • Monitor overall market development and assess implications for Blocket

Your projects will vary but will always be centered around dedicated strategic initiatives. Majority of the work is based on specific projects that require hypothesis-driven structured problem solving and involves driving the analysis, creating business cases and presenting recommendations to relevant C-level management. Blocket's management team will be a key stakeholder in most projects.

Skills & Requirements

Who you are

The right candidate is a curious self-learner with a solid problem solving toolbox (e.g. from Management Consulting) as well as great presentation skills. You are excited for the opportunity to own complex projects from start to finish in a high-paced digital environment and develop your skills in strategic decision making and analysis.

  • Data driven and analytical with a focus on results

  • Experience from and enjoys collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders such as leadership teams, product owners and developers

  • Creative and innovative, aiming to find new solutions with a growth mindset

  • Self-driven and dependable, while also working well in a group setting

  • Fluent in English and Swedish speech and writing

We believe that your experience includes:

  • Master of Science in Technology or Business

  • Relevant work experience (2-4 years) from projects within business development, strategy and investment processes in

  • A great plus is if you have experience of above from tech & product intensive companies
