Mentimeter's vision is to transform presentations and meetings into fun and interactive experiences by making it easy to listen and to be heard. We believe in giving everyone a voice, in every meeting and presentation. We are building a modern, friendly, and diverse product-first tech company based in Stockholm and we would love for you to join us!

To succeed in our mission to create a great product experience we are building out a world class Product Design Team - that can lead us into the unknown future of the Mentimeter product, fueled by our desire to challenge tomorrow’s presentation and meeting experiences. We already have a great team in place and we want to continue to learn and evolve as we grow.

We are looking for a User Experience Research Manager to join our growing team. Being a research leader at Mentimeter means you play a big part in shaping our team, the way we work, how we define our roles and how we help people grow and succeed, while coaching the research craft together with partners in Design, Product, Analytics and Engineering.

The role has focus on these dimensions:

  • Building out the UX Research team - Hiring and coaching researchers

  • Build and evolve the UX Research practice - methodology, tooling, support, training and strategic guidance

  • Conduct user research within selected initiatives. Translate business requirements into research. Advocate research findings to diverse audiences

  • Strategic research focus - partnering with Product Leadership & business development on what to research and how insights impact strategic direction

  • Part of Design leadership - evolving and driving improvements within the design function

The growing UX Research team (currently 1 person) is part of Mentimeter’s Design department and works across many types of initiatives to more effectively and efficiently deliver products and experiences that fulfill user needs. And we highly value crafting user-friendly and user-focused experiences. You will play a role in shaping how we build research as a core competency across Mentimeter and define how we put users first when conducting research.

Succeeding in this role means a few things:

  • Being a servant leader and coach to the researchers working in your team - helping them succeed and grow as individuals and team players

  • Facilitating and guiding the strategic dimensions of product experience insights to help guide the product into the unknown realms of engaging interactions

  • Role modeling and empowering the collaboration and partnership that is the foundation of the cross functional organisation

  • Actively being part of - as well as inspiring others to contribute - the always improving ways of working in the research craft

  • Leveraging your expertise at using qualitative research methods such as field studies, interviews, and diary studies and synthesis to shape product development and influence overall strategy, as well as to help teams validate ideas and assumptions through methods such as interviews, card sorting, usability testing prototypes, etc

  • A passion for educating and evangelising user research best practices, and communicate research impact in the organisation

The Mentimeter Product organisation is in constant motion and evolves continuously as we grow. The same will be true for this role, so if you like to be part of shaping the future for your own role as well as the team and organisation, this is a role for you.

Work with great people

Front-end Developer
"Dog videos vs. Cat videos is the ever ongoing fight of Internet. Soner has clearly picked a side: Doggos. The cuter and hairier the better."
Business Development Director - Sales
"All the way from Italian metropolitan via small town of Switzerland to Stockholm to be a part of the Menti-family. It's like it was written in the stars (check the cancer sign)."
Product Manager
"Anna is a Stockholmer and a part of the Mentimeter KTH alumni crew. When she's not innovating at Mentimeter, she's doing jumping jacks on the handball court or partying in the USA."
Head of Brand
"As a kid Carl wanted to be a fashion designer, but ended up doing the next best thing - branding and PR. When he's not at Menti he's touring Sweden with his cover band (apparently they're terrible)."

Skills & Requirements

To thrive in this role as a UX Research Manager, we believe you are someone who loves the craft of qualitative research, has a solid background doing the work, but has also found the passion of enabling others to succeed in their craft. You are still passionate about research as a craft, care about best practices and conduct research continuously, but you also focus on coaching and feedback, and create impact on a strategic level.

You are passionate about scaling insights - as a craft, as a team and as a function within the product organization. Coming from a product organization, you feel comfortable around change and thrive when trusted to drive part of this change in a growing team and organisation.

Of course you are someone deeply interested in the space of presentation software, innovative digital solutions and the realm of Software as a Service, eager to keep up with industry trends and thinking about the future experiences of engaging interactions and how they fit into people’s lives.

So who are you?

  • You have 3+ years of experience in a User Experience Research Manager role or equivalent

  • You have found your home in the concept of the product company organization, and are well versed in these dynamics

  • You have proven seniority around the research craft and ways of working

  • You have a passion for and experience in managing, coaching and mentoring researchers

  • You are an engaged and proactive contributor to the research craft from a leadership perspective

  • You have experience from deep partnership with Design, Product, Analytics and Engineering peers

  • You proactively communicate with stakeholders and team members, through verbal communication as well as presentations

  • You are humbled by the diversity of other people, whether it's regarding background, experience, perspective or personality

Not required:

  • You don't have to know Swedish (daily work is carried out in English and the Mentimeter team currently boasts over 30 different nationalities!)

Please note that you will be asked to attach your portfolio as part of the application. If your portfolio speaks about your role as a researcher leader, that's awesome! Otherwise please note that you will be asked to prepare such a case presentation as part of the recruitment process.

The recruitment process consists of:

  • Introduction Interview

  • Competence interview & Portfolio Presentation

  • Culture Interview

Please note:
Due to the Christmas holidays, we will be starting with interviews in January, so please keep in mind that we might take a bit longer than usual to get back to you :) We are, however, happy to receive applications during this time.
