reMarkable is a Norwegian tech company that develops products and services to help people think better in a distracted world. In a short amount of time, we’ve grown from a small startup to having over 200 permanent employees and two fantastic offices in central Oslo. Following the successful launch of our second-generation paper tablet, which has been named as one of TIME's "100 Best Innovations of 2020", we’re facing new challenges and opportunities as we expand into the global arena. That’s why we’re currently looking for a VP People and Culture who will lead, manage, and develop our People teams as we grow nationally and internationally. Are you ready to join the exciting growth of a truly unique tech brand?

This is an exciting opportunity to build an exceptional team, cultivate a company culture, and emphasize our values as we scale. In this role you will play a central role in setting the strategic direction for the People & Culture area in reMarkable and report directly to the Chief Organizational Officer.

In this role you will lead the People & Culture team, which currently consists of two teams; the Talent Acquisition team and the People Advisory team. Part of the responsibility will be to develop both these areas together with their direct leads, as well as establish a third team to work on People development areas, like engagement, communication and culture.

Further tasks and responsibilities

As VP People & Culture you will be part of the leadership team in the Organization tribe and your main responsibilities will be to:

  • Own and develop strategic plans for new initiatives and projects to improve our People area across the organization

  • Lead or participate in strategic People projects and initiatives

  • Assume responsibility of all people matters, such as employment law and employee relations

  • Lead our culture, performance management, team engagement and Diversity and Inclusion efforts

  • Ensure we have the right policies and procedures in place (hybrid work, training, compensation etc.)

  • Ensure all procedures comply with legal regulations and best practices

  • Analyze the effectiveness of HR operations and policies

  • Ownership of people analytics and reporting on business metrics and KPIs

  • Create compensation and reward packages

  • Ensure proper onboarding and training for new hires

  • Select tools and systems that scale with our needs

  • Be a close sparring partner to the COO on People related topics

  • Coach and develop team members.

Who are you?

  • Minimum relevant Bachelor's degree required

  • 10+ years of dynamic people/HR strategy experience in a fast-paced, high-growth business.

  • Good knowledge of employment law and relating regulations

  • The ability to thrive in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment.

  • Demonstrable track-record of implementing talent and performance management interventions

  • Possess exceptional people management and facilitation skills; outstanding communication skills and ability to connect with individuals across all levels of the organization

  • Industrious, creative, and good humored. You are resilient and adaptable. You enjoy and are adept at implementing bespoke and scalable solutions to critical challenges. You bring a positive attitude to the table.
