Lead UX designer - Web

reMarkable is a Norwegian technology company developing products that help people think better. Although being such a new and young company, we have already had a substantial increase in sales and revenue as well as in people, currently counting over 200 employees. After a very successful launch of our second-generation paper tablet, which, among other things, has been named TIME's "100 Best Innovations of 2020", we now face challenges and opportunities in the global arena.

We are now looking for a skilled and experienced lead UX Designer for our Market tribe. You will be given the opportunity to influence all the steps needed to sell a product used by hundreds of thousands of customers worldwide, and will play an important role in our ambitious growth and product development plans to achieve our goals - to help people worldwide think better - Better Thinking.

About the role

As a Lead UX Designer at our Market tribe, you will help us shape the digital product development at reMarkable. The position is market- and e-commerce oriented, primarily focused on our web surfaces. As a result of this, you will play a central role in shaping the market- and e.commerce competence within the UX design team. As such, your “home” at reMarkable will be in the UX design team in the Design department. We have ambitions to keep growing, both in size and revenue, meaning that it will be natural for you to have a personnel manager role for a team of other UX designers working by your side in our Market tribe. In this role, we are concerned about a good balance between manager tasks and project work.

Your tasks will range from working with sketches, prototypes and workflows on our web solutions (remarkable.com, support.remarkable.com and blog.remarkable.com), be the link between developers, team leads/product owners and strategic resources, as well as take part in managing and improving our design system, ensuring a consistent and good user experience. As a Lead UX Designer at reMarkable you have a great opportunity to influence your role and everyday life

Who you are

You are a UX designer by heart, with a commercial flair, have experience with designing for e-commerce, and are comfortable in leading cross functional teams in creative processes. Having experience with Managing and personnel responsibilities, as well as being comfortable in visual design is considered an advantage.

These are some characteristics we are looking for in the new UX designer:

  • Have more than three years of higher education, five years of experience, and consider yourself a professional with deep knowledge of the UX field of study.

  • You are skilled and confident when it comes to the subject of UX - be it the design, process, or role.

  • You thrive in the role of leading creative processes and including multidisciplinary participants in the process.

  • You enjoy making intuitive solutions with a clear sender.

  • Enjoy working with, and leading, other designers.

As a person, we hope you:

  • You are proactive and take responsibility where needed.

  • Are self-going and take responsibility where needed. You have professional experience, relevant experience is preferred, and the ability to lead others in a team.

  • Good communication skills. Both Norwegian and English, written and oral.

  • Are sociable and like hanging out with your colleagues.
