Awesome, we at the Rovio Stockholm Studio are looking for a talented Studio Art Director to help us shape the vision of what a future Rovio RPG Game should look like.
For us, the Studio Art Director, is truly a key person. While you’re expected to get your hands dirty when needed your main responsibility is to maintain and improve the world-class production quality and contribute to the hearty humor that the studio is known for. The Rovio Stockholm Studio is behind the hugely popular title Angry Birds 2 and while soaring on that success we are also developing several new IPs and exploring new game ideas within the RPG genre, as well as improving and expanding Angry Birds 2 even further. In the studio, situated in the south part of the city centre, we keep a flat hierarchy, a high level of transparency and an open communication. We challenge each other and ourselves in all we do here but all the while in a super supportive, inclusive, friendly and respectful atmosphere.
Primary Responsibilities & Job Duties:
Be in charge of setting the artistic vision for our new titles and IPs
Work hands on with prototypes to define the art workflows and best practices for new projects
Coaching the studio artists and help them grow in their craft
Steer the art teams to reach a high level of performance and motivation
Help maintain a high ambition level in the studio and high polish level in all our titles, ensuring that we will impress and delight our players
Recruiting and maintaining a great and diverse art team for the studio
Be a champion for good communication and facilitate learning and knowledge sharing

Passion and knowledge in gaming
We would love for you to have the following experience:
10+ years in gaming industry or equivalent with at least 3 years as a lead artist in game projects
Vast knowledge of different art styles, techniques and production methods
Experience in making decisions on project art styles, improvements and quality as well as guiding other artists in the style for a given project/brand or IP
Experience in mentoring other artists
Proven record in leading an art team from prototyping to launch
Experience working on games for mobile platforms
Experience working with games in Unity 3D or similar engines
