Northvolt‘s journey started in Västerås, Sweden with Northvolt Labs, a prototyping factory already in operation. The first phase of giga-factory - Northvolt Ett in Skellefteå is about to start manufacturing, while further expansion project has already kicked off. In Poland we have just broken ground on which a new Northvolt Systems assembly plan will be constructed. In joining us you will play an important part from the very start, building the landscape of first large scale European battery factories. Northvolt will play a significant role in the transformation to a carbon free society.

We have an awesome job offer for a Planning and Logistics Manager, to join our excellent and passionate team in Stockholm, reporting to Senior Director of Planning and Logistics. As the leader of the Cells and Battery Systems Team you will have the opportunity to design, negotiate and implement cell customer-facing planning, logistics and packaging solutions, as well as inbound and outbound landscape of Northvolt's Battery Systems division. You will play pivotal role in Northvolt’s successful growth in Sweden, Poland and beyond.

Your primary assignment will be to look after, grow and develop a team of currently seven (more next in 2022) Northvolters (Developers, Specialists, Coordinators and Engineers) who design and implement solutions mainly focused around finished goods (Battery Cell and Battery System).

We:

In broad terms and without going into too much detail, Team Planning and Logistics looks after everything that moves or needs to be stored. Before it does, we also need to do quite a bit of planning, but that's a separate story.

Our job is:

  • to support Northvolt’s mission, growth and expansion with quality planning and logistics design
  • to build a scalable operational and organisational framework, within which Northvolt units execute and
  • to enable a sustainable, resilient and efficient supply chain

You:

First and foremost - you are a hands-on leader. You are a natural when it comes to human interaction, managing a broad scope of activities across a very busy team. You have a good feel for people and you know how to, together with them, celebrate good times, as well as pull through dire straits.

Secondly, you are a supply chain professional at heart. You understand the importance of planning before the execution kicks in and the sequence of events of a logistical process.

You have the ability to see where the priority is in a dynamic giga-start up environment and if needed you're ready to dedicate more time to guide, coach or even help out the team, shoulder to shoulder.

Ideally, you have had a chance to experience all of the above in an environment of very quick growth, where not always are you in possession of all the information you'd wish for and where data at hand may be incomplete.

At Northvolt, we grow like hell. Having shipped only parcels just 3 years ago, we will very soon move tens of thousands of container loads per annum, across various geographies.

It's pretty amazing, right?

Together with the Team, in your job you will:

  • represent Northvolt Planning and Logistics in all customer projects (predominately automotive, industrial and energy storage)
    • negotiate and agree on a fair logistics preparedness specification
    • secure compliance with agreed customer requirements
  • liaise with colleagues and stakeholders to gather all relevant business requirement information necessary for a successful solution design
  • drive and/or partake in recruitment of local manufacturing units’ Planning and Logistics organisations
  • design and develop a framework, implement solutions and hand over planning and logistics processes to local organisations
  • develop, implement and manage finished goods packaging solutions
  • continuously improve overall Northvolt operations

About the company

Northvolt makes green batteries for a blue planet. Affordable cells and high-quality battery systems. All manufactured with a record-low carbon footprint. Purposely built to provide Europe with the opportunity to switch to renewable energy – efficiently and entirely.

To accomplish this, we do things differently. We design, manufacture, and recycle everything under one roof. We even build our own factories. All this is incredibly challenging and requires us to think in unconventional ways. We’re constantly experimenting, learning and adapting to make batteries so great – they will one day make oil history.

Northvolt is growing fast. We’re staffing our international office in Stockholm, our R&D facility, Northvolt Labs, in Västerås, as well as our Gdansk facility for production of battery systems. We're also hiring for our gigafactory Northvolt Ett in Skellefteå, Sweden. We want to work with smart individuals from all disciplines. Strong individuals that truly want to make a positive impact on the future. Those of us already on board share a passion for our mission. We’re prepared to work hard in pursuit of excellence. We enjoy the ride and our main drive is to make a difference for real. As a team, we’re dedicated to thinking new, working hard and having fun.
