Through providing thought leading insights, practical advice and a roadmap for automation, in partnership with our Sales function, we enable organizations to simplify operations, spend smarter and drive the transformation of their Finance & Procurement functions. Leveraging industry leading marketing platforms including Hubspot, LeadForensics and many more, we activate multi-channel marketing programs to help prospects get informed, build their business case, select the right-fit solutions, and ensure our customers get the most value from their Basware solutions.

BASWARE , an established high growth tech company operating in 15 countries around the globe, seeks a skilled and experienced Senior Specialist, Business Development in North America to join our Marketing team, based in our Charlotte, NC headquarters location.


Basware is looking for a driven Senior Business Development Representative (BDR) to identify business opportunities by developing new prospects to increase interest and qualify leads for the North American Sales team. They will have an in-depth understanding of Basware’s product offerings, and the ability to communicate our value to contacts in different functions within multiple industries.


The Business Development Representative will report to the US Head of Field Marketing and work with the local team. You will work day-to-day and take direction on projects and workload from your manager, but also be expected to manage and prioritize your own schedule based on plans that align with business needs.


  • Prospect and build a sales pipeline for the Account Executive team by engaging with qualified leads via phone, social, and email communications across an assigned territory
  • Handover qualified leads to the Account Executive team at an appropriate maturity status, initiating calls and face-to-face appointments with Account Executives
  • Qualify leads based on business fit, problem(s) to be solved, the relevance of contact, etc.
  • Helping prospects to identify and sharpen their needs and mapping those needs with Basware Solutions
  • Developing relationships with prospects and expanding our reach and understanding their critical issues, business initiatives, stakeholders of the buying center, and their buyers' journey status
  • Drive leads through the early stages of the sales process by regularly communicating with prospects and sending appropriate content
  • Consistently log and record each prospect outreach in Hubspot and be able to report back on progress and outcomes

Skills & Requirements


  • Experience in a front line B2B telephone sales role, preferably with a SaaS background including lead nurturing, appointment setting and pipeline development
  • All candidates who may not have this experience but who can demonstrate skills to the level required may apply and will be considered
  • Understanding of the buyer’s journey and the principles of value-based solution selling
  • Ability to comprehend the Basware product line and to communicate our value proposition to prospects
  • Must interact effectively with all levels of management and staff, internally and externally
  • Strong data management and research skills required
  • Proficient in Hubspot or a similar tool preferred
  • Highly organized and attentive to detail
  • Ability to handle a fast-paced environment and challenging workload
  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar role, with successful sales track record
