Northvolt has an exciting job offer for a Raw Materials Sourcing Analyst to join our passionate team in Stockholm.

In joining us you will play an important part from the very start in building one of the first large scale battery factories in Europe. Northvolt will play an important role in the transformation to a carbon free society.

About the job

The Raw Materials Sourcing Analyst will be supporting with delivery of technical and commercial projects related to the purchases of metals / raw materials (Ni, Co, Li, Mn). You will report to the Senior Manager – Metals and Raw Materials.
The candidate we are looking for has commercial analysis experience and worked with technical and commercial projects in a capital-intensive industry.

You hold a good understanding of finance and engineering.

About the team
The Raw Materials Group is a critical part of the Cathode Active Material Team, tasked with securing long-term supply of critical raw materials at the lowest total cost and working with suppliers to lead the improvement of sustainability standards across their respective industries.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Taking an active role in articulating and executing Northvolt's long term raw materials strategy
  • Working closely with internal and external stakeholders to understand opportunities, driving internal alignment and executing
  • Supporting the execution of a road map of projects aimed at optimising the cost and supply flexibility of raw material purchases
  • Driving sustainability projects with suppliers

The Raw Materials Sourcing Analyst will be an important pillar of the Raw Materials team and key to Northvolt's mission to enable the future of energy.

Skills & Requirements

Education/Experience

  • A degree in Engineering or other relevant University Degree
  • 3+ years working experience
  • Successful track record in a technical and/or commercial analytical roles in a capital-intensive industry
  • Strong technical background combined with commercial experience
  • Experience in multi-cultural environment
  • Experience and interest in manufacturing industry and/or start up environment is a plus

Specific Skills/Abilities

  • Excellent English written and oral skills
  • Good technical understanding
  • Good understanding of commercial drivers in the commodities markets
  • Eagerness to develop into a role with greater responsibilities
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft suite, Pivot Tables is a must
  • Team player
  • Proactive and eager to learn with an 'can do attitude'
  • Highly organised with excellent time management skills and the ability to work on several projects concurrently
  • Ability to work in a high profile and often high-pressure international environment with tight deadlines- comfortable to present and defend a project or a business case to various levels of the organisation
