Rovio Stockholm is looking for a talented Data Analyst with passion for games! The Stockholm Studio develops the very successful Angry Birds 2 with over 2 million daily active users, as well as other games to launch soon.

The data analyst position is an integral part of the team at Rovio. Rovio is a data driven company which seeks to make decisions with data to back it up. The data analyst works closely with key stakeholders in the game teams to make actionable decisions using data. This includes proactive and reactive analyses, maintaining dashboards, and multivariate testing.

The successful candidate will have substantial experience with SQL, proven skills making actionable insights for companies and a passion for games.

We’re looking for someone who enjoys combining their analytic skills, business acumen, and understanding of games to provide our creative teams and business leaders with the data and insights that will drive our continued success. The candidate should enjoy both working with people and performing technical analyses.

Primary Responsibilities & Job Duties:

  • Work with creative teams and business stakeholders to develop dashboards provide insight into player behavior and game performance.
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis of monetization, engagement, and retention issues.
  • Maintain the SQL data pipeline managing ETL scripts and adding new analytics variables to tables
  • Guide teams with analysis by telling a story with data in an easy to understand manner

Skills & Requirements

Requirements:

  • BS/MS in quantitative discipline required (math, physics, statistics, computer science, engineering, economics, etc.)
  • 1+ years using SQL on a daily basis
  • Familiar of databases and Big Data technologies (eg. SQL, Hive, Spark, Presto, Athena, Big Query)
  • Experience in Machine Learning Technologies (eg. Python, R, SAS, SPSS )
  • Experience in A/B Testing design, implementation and decision making
  • Excited about the field of analytics and making decisions based on data
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience working in a team environment
  • Passion for gaming!

Not required but awesome to have:

  • MS in computer science or Machine Learning
  • Previous work at a gaming company or working with creative teams
  • Experience developing and implementing models
  • Passion for RPG mobile games
  • Experience working in an agile environment
