As a junior software engineer at Schibsted Media Products & Technology for Aftenposten, you will be part of a cross-functional team of highly talented individuals. You are relentlessly technical and capable of being a strong individual and team player in a distributed team. As with any engineer we hire, the ability to communicate well is crucial, and you will participate in multiple initiatives with other disciplines across our different locations to build world-class products. Our organization, Schibsted News Media, has 300+ experts in product management, UX and technology. We build new digital products and technical platforms for Schibsted and Aftenposten, enabling independent journalism to thrive with products people love.
You will work on:
Using your creative skills and technical competence to build new experiences for our readers.
Collaborate with the editorial department and other teams within Schibsted to improve all our products across the company.
Continuously improving and maintaining our core products.

Technical qualifications/experience
Writing performant and understandable code
Ability to learn both new and old frameworks and technologies.
Our stack is mostly Typescript, React/Handlebars, SASS, with Varnish and some Go thrown in.
Experience with creating and consuming APIs
Working with microservices and backend-for-frontend architecture
