Are you the future of energy?

Our mission is to bring on a brighter future fueled by recyclable, rechargeable batteries made from renewable energy. It’s an extraordinary venture, currently involving thousands of people from countless academic backgrounds.

In order to build factories and batteries for the future, we will need to build a lot of really good software. And in order to do that, we need to work with a lot of really good software engineers. We are talking frontend (react, react native), backend (golang), data, embedded and more. When you fill in your application, please choose which one(s) you are most interested in and that fits your previous experiences the best.

Available positions

  • Frontend Developer (Stockholm or Skellefteå)
Work as a software engineer (frontend) in any of our web applications or mobile applications used in our connected factories. You will work close to UX researchers and get to work on features all the way from design to deployment.

  • Backend Developer (Stockholm or Skellefteå)
Join us for an exciting summer, working on projects related to our Connected Batteries or Connected Factories. We are developing battery factories with cutting edge technology, as well as battery systems that are managed remotely as a fleet. Building great software enables us to deliver world class batteries, where the data we collect will lead the way in developing new technologies. One example of a project could be to join the team working on our IoT fleet platform for collecting telemetry data, perform data analysis, OTA updates and work closely with our data team to build visualisations.

  • IT & Productivity Engineering (Stockholm)
Join our team in Stockholm in enabling productivity across different business units at Northvolt. Together we configure and develop tools such as Atlassian Jira (Software & Service Management), Confluence, GitHub, Microsoft PowerAutomate, Microsoft PowerApp and develop flows and automated tasks through our RPA tool.

  • DevOps Engineer (Stockholm or Skellefteå)
Work in the Platform team in a project to evaluate a technical solution we're looking at incorporating in our infrastructure. The project will include setting up the solution in our cloud environment using IAC and other relevant tools in our stack, then document and review how the solution fits our use case(s).

If you are more interested in Product Management, UX Research and UX Design - we recommend you check out the separate job ad for that one. If you are more interested in Data Engineering/Data Science/Machine Learning or Automation/Controls/Embedded those can also be found separately.

Join us for a paid 9-week summer internship and work side by side with colleagues from all over the world. You will get to work through the entire cycle from requirements to delivery and really see the result of your work.

The person we are looking for is goal oriented, passionate, creative, curious and eager to learn. You will get the chance to have a real impact on our success story in Sweden (to start with) and see the results of your work. Our organisation requires and values great self-discipline and a natural talent to make things happen. You will be essential to help the team make next-generation tools and interfaces to enable the greenest and smartest batteries in the world.

About the company

Northvolt makes green batteries for a blue planet. Affordable cells and high-quality battery systems. All manufactured with a record-low carbon footprint. Purposely built to provide Europe with the opportunity to switch to renewable energy – efficiently and entirely.

To accomplish this, we do things differently. We design, manufacture, and recycle everything under one roof. We even build our own factories. All this is incredibly challenging and requires us to think in unconventional ways. We’re constantly experimenting, learning and adapting to make batteries so great – they will one day make oil history.

Northvolt is growing fast. We’re staffing our international office in Stockholm, our R&D facility, Northvolt Labs, in Västerås, as well as our Gdansk facility for production of battery systems. We're also hiring for our gigafactory Northvolt Ett in Skellefteå, Sweden. We want to work with smart individuals from all disciplines. Strong individuals that truly want to make a positive impact on the future. Those of us already on board share a passion for our mission. We’re prepared to work hard in pursuit of excellence. We enjoy the ride and our main drive is to make a difference for real. As a team, we’re dedicated to thinking new, working hard and having fun.
