Northvolt has an exciting job offer for a Technical Project Manager to join our growing Construction team supporting the establishment of our Northvolt Ett Factory in Skellefteå. Europe's first large scale, sustainable battery factory.

Job

What will be your job? You will be the technical project manager for the HVAC and Mechanical scope for your designated block. You will be working closely with all other engineering disciplines in your block and with the blocks design manager to lead the project during the design phase.

You will be the technical authority for the HVAC and Mechanical systems and will lead design contractors to fullfill the requirements of the process and the goals of Northvolt construction and program team. You will also coordinate with all other stakeholders to streamline the design phase.

As responsible for HVAC and Mechanical design of your block, you will also be part of the mechanical team where you as a team will be developing and evolving Northvolt technical guidelines and specifications. The team will be reporting to the mechanical design manager.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Review and clarify the relevant utility requirements
  • Lead the design for your designated area. Monitor and report design progress
  • Drive and support the design contractors and consultants
  • Continually assure the quality of the design. Review of design documentation
  • Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to facilitate an integrated, optimised design
  • Represent Northvolt at design reviews and acceptance tests
  • Provide technical support to the construction and commissioning teams
  • Work with the Maintenance and Operations Teams to achieve a successful handover of the design documentation and flawless start-up

Skills & Requirements

Education/Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in HVAC system design preferably in industrial settings
  • Previous experience working as an HVAC engineer in all project phases from feasibility to detail design and commissioning

  • Experience with underground services is desirable

  • Experience in supporting other project functions with input, including estimating, scheduling, HSE risk assessments, and constructability reviews

  • Previous experience with large scale projects is strongly desirable but not essential

  • Familiarity with Swedish and European laws and standards

  • Fluency in English and Swedish is a plus

Specific Skills/Abilities

  • Experience with using BIM in design
  • Familiarity with 3D and 2D design tools such as MAGICAD, Revit and AUTOCAD
