Morrow Batteries is building its industrialization center for battery technology. The “Morrow Industrialization Centre will be crucial for our core cell research and development, the industrialization and the scaling up of our products towards the Gigafactory. We will work in close relationship with partners and customers to further develop and customize the future of battery technology.

Morrow Industrialization Centre will consist of different parts, the Battery Research and Innovation Center, The Battery Development Center and the Pilot Cell Factory. This will enable us to be at the forefront of battery technology development and to develop and industrialize customer centric battery products, covering a range of sectors such as European automotive industry, energy storage, power tools and the consumer market.

To help us to accelerate our customer centric approach we are seeking a committed, talented, ambitious and experienced Customer Project Manager who is passionate to be at the forefront of this technology.

The Customer Project Manager is the technical contact to the customer and leads the Customer Project House, a technical team with experts of several domains.

As the head of the Customer Project House, you will be responsible for a technical team of cell, cell material, mechanical and test Engineers working with our selected key customers to drive customer specific battery cell projects. You and your team will be the glue between Customer, Research & Development and Manufacturing departments. Together with the customer, you will set and ensure to keep the agreed project milestones and goals (budget, schedule and quality). Deviations from the plan need to be reported/escalated and countermeasures to be put in place to get back on track. You should as well have a solid communication/reporting towards customer, suppliers and internally for all project related matters through different levels.

Tasks and responsibilities:

  • Heading a Team of customer dedicated Engineers in the cell, material, mechanical and test domain
  • Setup (Kick-Off) and Execution (Monitoring and Control) of the customer specific battery cell project
  • Managing Milestones, Budget and Key performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Escalate deviations from the agreed plan and workout countermeasure to get back on track
  • Re-planning of Milestones in alignment with the customer and Backoffice (R&D and manufacturing Experts)
  • Coordinate all customer activities within the Project House and the Backoffice (R&D and manufacturing Experts)
  • Reporting the Project Status though different levels
  • Setup of Lessons Learned and Improvement process

Skills & Requirements

Education/Experience

  • A relevant university degree (B.Sc. / M.Sc. or similar) in Engineering
  • PMI certification is a plus
  • 5 years of relevant experience in managing different size for projects for LiIon Battery
  • Technical knowledge of LiIon battery technology / manufacturing process for prismatic and cylindrical battery cells
  • Experience in OEM development Process (Automotive/none Automotive)
  • Specific Skills/Abilities

  • Excellent written and spoken English skills

  • Project Management Method

  • Highly organized and result-driven with strong communication skills (customer centric)

  • Ability to work under high pressure and tight deadlines (customer specific)
  • Quick understanding of issues and a solution-oriented attitude
  • Structured and analytical approach to problem solving
  • Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as with others in high-performing team environment
