We are now strengthening our Premium Subscription team with a Head of UX, to lead the design- and UX work in Aftenposten, Bergens Tidende, Stavanger Aftenbladet and Svenska Dagbladet. The role has a seat in the UX Media management team, and reports to the Director of UX at Schibsted News Media. You will also be part of the Premium Subscription Leadership team.

The role has equal focus on three dimensions:

  • Hiring and being a manager for UX’ers and designers in our product teams
  • Strategic UX focus - partnering with Product & Tech Leadership & business development
  • Part of UX Leadership - evolving and driving improvements within the UX function

We are looking for someone with several years experience in UX, leadership and UX strategy. You are proactive, people-oriented, open minded, and eager to spread your knowledge. You are also a great collaborator that can navigate complex organizational landscapes.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

  • Managing and mentoring the UX’ers and designers in the Premium subscriptions teams
  • Setting clear goals and strategies, managing resources accordingly, adhering to the product roadmap and guiding your team members towards growth and success.
  • Make sure that you and your team follow the best UX practices and research methods
  • Engaging the entire UX team in championing design methodologies and best practices
  • Facilitating collaboration with product management, engineering and research teams to ensure successful product development and an overall understanding of our user’s needs
  • Recruit and attract talents to our organisation
  • Operational work: Lead and contribute to projects as much as the time allows
  • Help to build an inspiring culture and workplace, together with the other managers
  • Develop and contribute to our UX community and share the best UX and research practice across the organization
  • Bridging UX in the Premium Subscription team with our brands teams, other stakeholders and collaborating in shared initiatives
  • Pull to deliver on News Media's strategy

You have the following experience and skills:

  • Proven experience in a management or leadership role for a large UX team
  • Several years of UX design or UX research experience
  • Understanding of usability and user experience principles
