Morrow Batteries is planning to build its Morrow Industrialization Center in the Eyde Energi Park in Arendal. This will be the industrialization center for the main Giga-scale battery cell factories which will be subsequently constructed. Construction of the Morrow Industrialization Center is planned to begin in the third quarter of 2021.

The modern facility will make it possible for Morrow to industrialize its future battery cell technologies and carry out customer qualifications. It will have world-leading technology that facilitates for production of cathode active materials and battery cells intended for qualification for the European automotive industry but also other customers from the energy storage and consumer market.

To help us to accelerate the set-up of the Pilot Cell Factory in the Morrow Industrialization Center, we are seeking committed and talented Machine Operators in electrode manufacturing aspects who are passionate about sustainable technology and energy.

Responsibilities/ Duties:

  • Operate industrial machines according to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s)
  • Observe production or monitor equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation
  • Intervene during process interruptions according to Standard Work Instructions
  • Be attentive to process and equipment deviations and report them immediately to the supervisor
  • Collect samples of materials or products for laboratory testing and conduct defined samples tests
  • Keep the equipment operating in the best condition
  • Work with production diagrams, sample patterns and; hand tools to do small equipment adjustments
  • Complying with all company policies, in particular those relating to safety, quality and performance
  • Performing other tasks ordered by supervisor
  • Work in clean room and dry room atmosphere with protective gear
  • Travel abroad for training in machine processes

Skills & Requirements

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum secondary education (technical level)
  • Experience in handling industrial equipment with a PLC is a plus
  • Understanding of how to run equipment at high efficiency (yield and energy consumption)
  • Ability to read and interpret diagrams, procedures and work instructions and translate them into specific activities
  • Certification in forklift operation is a plus
  • PC skills to utilize input and read-outs from ERP and, Work order system, email, incident reporting system, etc
  • Effective team player
  • Attentive to details with a Quality mindset
  • Diligent and responsible attitude
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Confident in English speaking and writing skills
  • Work permit in Norway
