We are looking for a Team Manager to support our newly established Pharmacovigilance (PV) Products Support and Content services team.

Demand for UMC products and services is growing, with more markets opening up and new opportunities emerging every day. Delivering the best possible value and impact from our PV products is a key priority for UMC. To support our current and future needs, a new team has been established, creating a competence and support centre for PV products. We are looking for a new Team Manager with experience in structuring, building, and managing effective teams for complex and global product support and services.

The team
Starting 1 January 2022, the team will be responsible for providing expertise, service, and support relating to PV products. The team will support customers and stakeholders along the customer life cycle - from the early stages of translating demand to ensuring proficient use of the products. The team will also leverage UMC’s expertise in understanding and managing branch-specific data and delivery-related services such as custom searches.

Our international customers and stakeholders include WHO, pharmaceutical companies, research organisations, academia, regulatory authorities, and national pharmacovigilance centres across the globe. The team will initially consist of approximately 9-10 senior staff working closely within UMC.

The role
As Team Manager, you will oversee the daily management and operational processes to ensure timely and high-quality deliveries. With a new team being established, a key responsibility for the role will be to facilitate and drive the definition and structuring of the team’s current and future services and capabilities in close collaboration with the rest of UMC.

To ensure goals and objectives are met, supporting, coaching, and mentoring team staff will be key.

Your general responsibilities will be to:

  • in close collaboration with the staff, develop, implement, and maintain a fit and scalable oper-ational model for the team;
  • ensure that the right skills and competencies are developed and put into use across the PV customer life cycle;
  • establish work processes to deliver great customer journeys from onboarding customers to maintaining and delivering effective services and support;
  • track the use of PV services and propose actions to increase impact and usage;
  • in close and active collaboration with the PV Products portfolio and development teams, con-tribute to PV Products management;
  • define goals and objectives for the team and related KPIs to track services delivered;
  • in collaboration with staff using UMC’s agile methods, continually develop work processes to ensure continuous simplification and automation of recurring tasks;
  • create and manage well-functioning teams in accordance with UMC’s values and strategies; and
  • ensure that budget targets based on UMC’s goals are met.
