Head of Digitalization, Northvolt Ett

Northvolt has an exciting job offer to join our passionate Digitalization team in Skellefteå and contribute to building one of the first large scale European battery factories. We are a diverse multinational team with strong focus on project management, communication, implementation and adoption.

As a Head of Digitalization at Northvolt Ett, you will be responsible for building the infrastructure, implementing the system landscape as well as deploying the software that enables the factory to run. You will work with Construction, Production, Programs, Factory Controls, Software and Infrastructure teams to enable the business to succeed.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Enable IT and software teams on site as well as remote to efficiently support Northvolt Ett
  • Align expectations between the Ett Management Team and IT/Digitalization responsible.
  • Act as a Single Point of Contact for the escalating topics or where there are unassigned responsibilities.
  • Address bottlenecks and make sure that un-assigned responsibilities are assigned in the Digitalization organization.
  • Continue to build up a software launch team setting the way of working for new factories as well as the introduction of new battery types.
  • Be a member of the Ett Management Team and take care of escalated topics in the Ett pulse meetings. Manage a large set of stakeholders with frequent complex scenarios.
  • Present the digitalization status in the weekly Ett Factory Review (network, master data, ERP, MES).
  • Take care of local support needed from Digitalization at Ett, for example new offices.
  • Drive change from construction site to manufacturing site, as well as to drive safety first initiatives where Digitalization can contribute.

Skills & Requirements

We believe that you have:

  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science/Information Technology, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 4 years from leadership functions.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in software and/or information technology.
  • Experience and interest in manufacturing industry is a requirement.
  • Conducting, or providing valuable inputs for processes of IS analysis, development, and integration.
  • Experience working with communication networks for complex WAN/LAN architectures and cloud networks is preferred.
  • Experience improving production uptime, OEE, yield and scrap rates through process and automation is preferred. It is a plus with good understanding of mechatronics and mechanical engineering.
  • Proficient with Jira, confluence and the Atlassian stack.

Specific Skills:

  • Successful history of working with cross-functional teams, as well as technical teams.
  • Excellent English written and oral skills, Swedish is a plus.
  • Highly organized, collaborative and proactive problem-solver.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize a multitude of complex problems across cross-functional teams.
  • Qualities that we cherish are flexibility, sense of quality, friendliness, curiosity and motivation to take on new challenges, grit and a sense of humour.
