Haglöfs AB is now recruiting a Head of Business Development to lead and implement Haglöfs strategic direction and contribute to company growth. Location is the brand new Head office in Stockholm, Sweden.

As a Head of Business Development you will play an important part in contributing to Haglöfs’ continued success leading and implementing Haglöfs strategic direction to reach the company goals. You will function as project leader for various cross-functional improvement projects across the business (business development), and manage the newly established business area NEW VENTURES, which is aimed at bringing new business models and ideas to life, outside of the normal core business of Haglöfs.

You will work in close cooperation with all members of Executive Management Team in all business development related activities, with specific focus on projects spanning over more than one department.

Main responsibilities and tasks

Strategic development:

  • Driving the continuous development of the strategic direction and contribute to the refinement of vision and strategy
  • Identifying business development opportunities for growth and profitability improvement and secure alignment with overall strategy
  • Break down the strategy into projects and actionable tasks
  • Monitor and collect industry and consumer insights as well as micro and macro trend data
  • Constantly seek to develop the business area NEW VENTURES through the introduction of new business models and income streams

Execution of strategic direction:

  • Facilitating the Executive Management Team Meetings and strategic workshops or similar on behalf of the CEO
  • Monitoring the execution of the strategic plan
  • Facilitating and driving key strategic initiatives
  • Partnering with specialist and consultants to support execution of key initiatives
  • Acting as a resource across the organization to increase broad cohesion for strategic plans
  • Mobilizing and managing teams of individuals charged with executing strategies

Working relationships and key partners:

  • Close cooperation with all members of Executive Management Team in all business development related activities, with specific focus on projects spanning over more than one department
  • Close cooperation with specific individuals involved in the NEW VENTURES business area – primarily sales, marketing, product, supply chain & sustainability
  • Close cooperation with key members of projects identified as business development

As Head of Business Development you will report directly the Global Finance Director with dotted line to our CEO.

Skills & Requirements

Knowledge and experience:

  • Bachelor or Master´s degree in Finance and Administration, Management, and/or Engineering
  • Minimum three years of experience from management consulting and/or business development
  • Preferably with experience in the sports and outdoor industry

Personal skills:

  • Very strong project management skills
  • Analytical approach with critical mindset and ability to constantly challenge top management
  • Strong in communication with ability to engage co-workers at all levels
  • Very strong commercial drive
  • Ability to lead and engage co-workers without being their formal manager
  • Structured when under pressure and ability to do the right prioritization
  • Innovative in discovering new business models opportunities for growth
  • Excellent power point & excel skills
