Today's transport systems are highly inefficient and fragile. The transport industry is also disrupted by three major technology trends: electrification, automation, and digitalization. There is a growing need for easy, effective, and evidence-based decision support tools to create efficient, robust and sustainable transport infrastructure and logistics. At Gordian we address this current market need but our long term vision is to become the “Databricks of Transport and Mobility Data” by helping organizations discover, manage and utilize knowledge about all transports and movements.

Based on a combined 20 years of research at KTH, Royal Institute of Technology, Gordian is building a platform (SaaS products) that provides data-driven intelligence for transport planning and logistics. For example, our products help grid and logistics companies decide where and how to develop charging infrastructure to make it 5 times more profitable. We can eliminate 50% of the waste in managed transport services. With Gordian customers can analyze infinite streams of millions of transport routes to provide transport efficiency and environmental impact insights. These are just a few examples of the growing multibillion Euro markets that Gordian wants to address within logistics, mobility, closed-loop transports, last-mile deliveries, infrastructure planning, etc.

Our secrete sauce is an expanding set of lightning-fast, AI-infused, transport route analytics that accurately capture the information that is necessary to perform effective optimizations. We can compress data up to 50x without losing any information, something that outperforms today’s solutions.

Now we need to grasp the growing market opportunities and harness the potential of our technology to build and scale Gordian. We have a strong technical team of entrepreneurial spirited academics but we need an energetic entrepreneur to join us as a co-founder to drive business development and take on the CEO role.

What we have accomplished so far

  • Secured pre-seed funding from KTH Holding and negotiated term sheet for (pre-)seed investment with an early-stage VC in the Nordics
  • Carried out successful proof of concept with a large Swedish truck manufacturer- our offering is included in their digital services to their customers (logistics service providers).
  • Started discussions with a large multi-national logistics service provider (fleet of 2000 trucks).
  • Supported by KTH Innovation, EIT Urban Mobility and currently accepted into the AI-stream of the Creative Destruction Lab (CDL) Program at Oxford

About the company

Gordian is a DeepTech startup based on 20 years of transport data analytics and optimization research at KTH. Gordian develops an AI-infused transport route analytics and optimization platform with SaaS products to increase the profitability and robustness in real-time fleet management and infrastructure planning. Gordian uses its proprietary 50x lossless compression and indexing of transport route data that enable superior route analytics. AI methods use the analytics to model transport demand and optimize transport resource allocations through simulations in digital twins. By helping grid and logistics companies decide where and how to develop charging infrastructure or helping logistic companies to optimize closed-loop (inbound and outbound) transport operations, the current Gordian services yield cost reductions of at least €12K per vehicle annually and up to €3B on national charging infrastructure rollouts. These are just a few examples of the growing multiple multibillion Euro markets that Gordian wants to address within logistics, mobility, closed-loop transports, last-mile deliveries, infrastructure planning, etc.

Gordian’s vision is to become the one-stop-shop for organizations to discover, manage and utilize knowledge from their transport route data. Towards this vision, Gordian delivers superior SaaS products that utilize transport route data to increase the efficiency and robustness of real-time logistics and transport infrastructure plans. In the future, Gordian aims to provide a general transport data analytics and optimization platform where customers themselves can exploit the value in their data.
