Senior Software Engineer / Tech Lead

The Tools and Product team in Northvolt is looking for a new Senior Software Engineer to act as a Tech Lead for the team and drive development in our Application Factory part and support the Tools & Products team. You will also work closely with the Process Automation & Digital Productivity divisions of the team.

The Tools & Products Application Factory will serve Northvolt's internal and external customers with a growing smorgasbord of custom software applications that have too complex requirements to be built using our no-code tools (Power Apps, Logic Apps)

The technology stack of Tools & Products is centered around (but not limited to)

  • Cloud-first approach.
  • AWS for cloud operations (and a bit of Azure).
  • Terraform and Serverless for infrastructure management
  • Golang and NodeJS for backends.
  • React / JS for frontends.
  • Github for repo and CD/CI
  • MacBook Pro as development machines

Education & Experience:

  • To be frank, we don’t really mind who you are, where you are coming from or your educational background.
  • We do care about the skills you have built so far, what you so far have managed to deliver, your current career goals, and your plans for the future;
  • We look after you that is a proven competent engineer who understands complex IT environments and the meaning of mission-critical systems;
  • We look after you that can lead and inspire a team with a blend of strategy and tactics, that you make sure to finish what has been started with no loose ends;
  • Ideally, you are a seasoned software engineer with 5+ years of experience from the industrial / enterprise IT space who is a fit with our tech stack and is experienced with the latest cloud system technologies, preferably in an enterprise environment.
  • You have “been there and done that” with demanding IT projects and you are ready to take the next step in your IT career and become a Tech Lead and manage a small software team, engineer interesting things, drive progress, and manage operational risk while enjoying the benefit of operational and creative freedom combined with responsibility and best practices.
