Mission of the Reliability team

We believe that reliability is more than just strong design. We believe that reliability should be woven into our culture and the mindset of all our teams: having a reliable product strengthens trust in Schibsted and the quality of our products.

As part of the reliability team you will plan our reliability journey by determining what is appropriate for the business and our product. You will influence our architecture, our processes, our culture, and our mindsets. You will empower our developers to move faster whilst still improving our product reliability.

What you'll do

  • Solve problems relating to mission-critical services and build automated solutions to prevent them
  • Work as a leading engineer: ensuring success through your own expertise and the expertise of your team, adjacent teams, and stakeholders
  • Act as the voice of the Reliability team when collaborating with other senior engineers across teams and shaping our technical strategy
  • Develop a reliability strategy that sustains developer velocity and system reliability simultaneously
  • Learn about the centralised tools used across Schibsted and determine which best fit our products
  • Implement Infrastructure as code and use CI/CD Tools for automation tasks
  • DevSecOps - actively work with the security team and with other senior engineers in Schibsted account to ensure we align with Schibsted’s security strategy
  • Scope and implement gold standard solutions that are easy to understand and reusable
  • Empower developers by putting them in control of their services
  • Ensure standards and tooling around meaningful monitoring and alerting
  • Share knowledge, facilitate, guide, and mentor others in areas of work

Some of the things you will work with

  • AWS
  • Helm and Kubernetes
  • Terraform for our infrastructure as code
  • Logging, monitoring, metrics, and alerting (Datadog, Humio, Prometheus, Pagerduty)
  • Schibsted’s centralised developer tooling

Where you'll be

  • Oslo or Stockholm
  • Where are your colleagues based? Today we have team members based in Kraków, Stockholm, Oslo, Gdansk, and Kramfors

What we can offer you

  • We are a distributed workforce which allows us to embrace all kinds of work modes: in office, from home, or a hybrid. For this particular role, we believe that hybrid will work best, but we are open for discussion
  • Autonomy to discover new ways forward, experiment, prioritise and own the journey of your team and Schibsted Account
  • A learning and development focused environment with emphasis on knowledge sharing, demos, and training
