Northvolt has an important and exciting job offer for a Senior System Engineer to join our top team in Stockholm.

In joining us you will play an important part in the transformation to a carbon free society that is the mission of Northvolt. The customers of Northvolt System solutions are a wide range of industries all the way to high scale ESS grid applications.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develop system solutions for next generation of LV and HV battery systems within a range of different industrial applications in high volumes and worldwide usage

  • Gather requirements from customer and internal stakeholders and take ownership of high-level system requirements – within electrical, mechanical/thermal, BMS and SW areas

  • Support break-down of requirements to the other teams in the development organization – HW & electrical, SW and mechanical/thermal team

  • Perform system analysis of present and future customer battery system applications

  • Design and evaluate electrical systems, protection components, sensors and EMC related to the operation of battery applications

  • Perform system analysis for safety and reliability, such as FMEA and high-level risk assessment

  • Support integration of hardware and software functional implementation and evaluation

  • Define system level test requirements

Skills & Requirements

We believe that you have:

  • MS/BS degree in a relevant technical field (e.g. EE, ME, CS)
  • +8 years HW/electrical/system engineering
  • Automotive or BMS/battery industry knowledge preferred
  • Hands-on experience with understanding of schematic circuit reading and simulation
  • Excellent design/knowledge skills in analog, digital, and power electronics
  • Good knowledge of EMC/EMI design practices and the relevant validation testing
  • Knowledge and experience working with digital requirement tools, such as Polarion or similar

Specific Skills/Abilities

  • Excellent English written and oral skills, Swedish is a plus
