We are looking for an Operational Intelligence Manager to join us in our mission to contribute to a greener future.  By joining us, you will be a key player in ramping up the newly established team and contribute to building one of the first large scale European battery factories.  

About the job
As an Operational Intelligence Manager, you will lead the Operational Intelligence work at Northvolt Labs in Västerås, Sweden and report to the Director of Operational Excellence. We are using purpose-built software and data platforms to collect and store large volumes of real-time data from the manufacturing line.

You will use this data to track manufacturing effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement. You will work closely with Production Technology and Plant Management to define and track KPIs with consistency, accuracy, relevance, and timeliness. You will also work closely with Data, Software and Digitalization teams to define requirements for new capabilities of the Northvolt Data Platform.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Define processes for tracking and reporting of prioritized KPIs to management and external stakeholder
  • Collaborate with Data and Software Teams to define requirements for the Northvolt Data Platform to enable new reporting capabilities
  • Perform ad-hoc Data Analysis and automate regular reporting
  • Use data to identify improvement opportunities and track impact of implemented solutions
  • Troubleshoot data-related problems and authorize maintenance or modifications

You have previous experience from complex manufacturing operations and can work independently in developing plans for KPI tracking and reporting. You are an effective communicator with peers, customers, and colleagues outside of your domain. Ideally, you are familiar with prevailing standards within automotive manufacturing.

Skills & Requirements

Requirements:

  • Experience from complex manufacturing operations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication. English is mandatory. German and Swedish are a plus.
  • An analytical mindset with problem-solving skills
  • Understanding of modern data technologies (databases, visualization tools)
  • Comfortable writing SQL queries

Bonus points for: 

  • Experience from Lithium-Ion Battery Manufacturing or Automotive Manufacturing
  • Experience in Data Analysis/Science using Python ecosystem (jupyter, pandas, visualisation libraries)
  • Experience in visualization tooling (Grafana/PowerBI/Tableau/Qlik/Looker...)
  • Experience working with quality-related approaches to manufacturing (Six Sigma, CPK/PPK, SPC)
  • Knowledge in statistics and associated tooling (JMP, Minitab, R etc.)
