We are looking for an experienced Electrical Construction Safety Manager to join us in our mission to contribute to a greener future. The role is a part of our passionate Construction team based in Skellefteå.  By joining us, you will be a key player in establishing/ramping up Northvolt Ett and contribute to building one of the first large scale European battery factories.  

About the job _
_The Electrical Construction Safety Manager or "Elanläggningsansvarig" is a role officially delegated by Northvolt Ett, the company, to this person, who will then be responsible for ensuring a safe working environment for his/her staff and contractors. NV1 is currently under construction and is at the stage where the utilities are starting to be energised and commissioned. This job will give you the opportunity to create and update work methods and procedures, solve problems on site and be the main point of contact for the electrical installation contracts.

About the team
The construction team consist of about one hundred people today covering a wide range of disciplines. The electrical team today is 15 people.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Doing one's best to safely energize the factory electrical rooms, systems, subsystems and process equipment within the project target and milestones.
  • Ensuring that the plant is electrically safe.
  • Make reparations when defects are discovered in the electrical system.
  • Ensuring that his/her staff and contractors have the necessary skills for their work activities.
  • Ensuring that authorised access only to live electrical operations' rooms.
  • Ensuring that all electrical contractors doing electrical installation works are registered with Elsäkerhetsverket.
  • Ensuring that all electrical installation contractors performing work in the plant, are provided with the necessary information about the plant and the work they are to perform.
  • Being the main point of contact for the electrical installation contracts.
  • Ensuring consistency in electrical working procedures across the entire Northvolt construction site.
  • Arranging for the training of the operation & maintenance personnel in the new factory electrical systems.

Skills & Requirements

We believe that you:

  • Have a Bachelors or Masters in electrical engineering or/and are a qualified electrician certified to work on HV, MV and LV systems
  • Are fluent in English and Swedish
  • Have computer literacy (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Have a minimum of 10 years’ experience in the construction of Advanced Manufacturing factories and/or Oil and Gas type refineries.
  • Have experience with the installation and commissioning of LV, MV & HV networks

Bonus points for: 

  • Fluency in other languages (Japanese, Chinese, French)  
  • Experience from a multi-cultural environment 
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Navisworks or Revit
