Ignitia is a high-technology start-up founded in Sweden, and operating in West Africa. We developed a highly accurate weather forecasting model tailored for the tropics, that produces GPS-specific forecasts that are twice as accurate as existing models. We send these to farmers via simple SMS so they can make better farming decisions.

Beyond, our SMS forecasts we also produce early warning alerts for severe- weather and multiple types of weather data sets can that allow agricultural companies to reduce risk and streamline sensitive operations.

To meet the specific challenges of West Africa, which lacks the infrastructure and maintenance required for traditional weather data collection, we've created products that are based on remote-sensing techniques. Recent university research in this area allows us to fully utilise high-resolution numerical methods and accurately forecast tropical weather. That's what makes us unique.
