Euro Pool System was founded in 1992 when the cooperative auction associations in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany joined forces, merging their packaging pools. They set up one pool with standard packaging for the entire chain of fresh products. Over the next twenty years or so, the organisation has expanded its presence and become the leading logistical partner in the field of reusable packaging for retailers in Europe.

LPR - La Palette Rouge - was established in 1992 in France as a pallet pooling specialist and has progressively expanded across Europe. As part of its activities, the company focussed on the chain between the Fast Moving Consumer Goods sector (FMCG) and retailers. Today LPR is one of the leading organisations in the European pallet pooling industry. At the end of 2011 Euro Pool System acquired LPR, thus enlarging the range of products and logistical services offered to its retail customers.
