CorPower Ocean is a fast-growing ocean energy company. We have developed a compact high-efficiency Wave Energy Converter (WEC) inspired by the pumping principles of the human heart. The unique concept offers five times more energy per ton of device compared to previously known technology, and the company is considered a sector leader. 2009M.D. Stig Lundbäck invented the first generation wave energy converter, CorPower Ocean founded. During 2010-2011 small scale protoypes were tested.
2012Patrik and Stig met. CorPower Ocean incubated in KIC InnoEnergy. Verification of technology through simulation and test programs in Stockholm, Lisbon and Trondheim during 2012-2013.
2014Energy giant Iberdrola betting on the technology. HiWave pilot project with Iberdrola Engineering and WavEC Offshore renewables started. Installation of scale 1:3 hardware-in-the-loop system @ KTH.
2015Team of 12 people moved into new offices at KTH Campus. Disclosure of revolutionary results from 2014 test campagin in Nantes, France - 5 times more energy per ton and 3 times more energy per force compared to previous state-of-the-art in wave power.
