Join us on our journey to revolutionize how programming is introduced to beginners!

Since July 1st 2018, programming is part of the curriculum for all Swedish elementary schools, affecting approx. 1 million students, only in Sweden. Worldwide, schools are starting to realize how the competence needs of our future generations have changed, resulting in programming being introduced in lower ages.

WHAT WE ARE BUILDING

We are developing a complete teaching aid for text programming for beginners. There are two sides of the product: ZIFRO PLAYGROUND, where the student practices problem solving and programming in Python through gamified exercises, and ZIFRO TEACHER, containing lesson plans and tools to evaluate the learning process of the students.

WHY WE ARE BUILDING IT

We who have founded ZIFRO have a background in the non-profit organization Hello World! and are passionate about enabling people to discover the art of programming. We believe that by introducing programming in a friendly way at an early age, we can change the perception of programming for the future generations and thereby create a diverse and thriving developer community of the future.

Accomplishments

  • We are an early stage startup, participating in the pre-incubator program at KTH Innovation. An early MVP of parts of our product was finished in March 2017. Since the founding of ZIFRO in August 2017, we have worked in an iterative process where we have developed our product based on customer feedback.
  • In the past 6 months, we have accomplished the following:
  • Launching a beta-version of ZIFRO PLAYGROUND and ZIFRO TEACHER in February.
  • Getting selected in KTH Innovation pre-incubator program with access to excellent business coaching, office space and financial support.
  • Signing our first three customers which will be our partner schools during the following school year.
  • Becoming a partner with Skolon, a distributor of digital tools.
  • Getting accepted to KTH Innovation internationalization program Brighter.
  • Having 150 teachers and 800 students try ZIFRO since the beta release
