Oh oh! Awesome! {$ msg.text $} ({$ msg.count $})

Do you think we need to get more girls into tech? And that youth need better tools to learn the basics of programming and be exposed to technology in a fun and creative way? Do you agree that computer science can be applied to many more school subjects than mathematics?

These are some of the fundamental ideas guiding the development of imagiCase, a start-up affiliated with KTH innovation that is aiming to inspire the next generation of female technologists. Our first product is a phone case with embedded LED lights that can be programmed to display any color, pattern or text through a mobile application. The application teaches programming concepts by linking these ideas to the visual representations on the phone case. In order to further engage our users, the platform also allows them to share their creations with each other and to work on their codes together. Finally, in order to ensure the quality of learning and to assist a guided learning experience, imagiCase also offers tutorials of varying levels in the app.

imagiCase started as a research project at KTH. While affiliated with KTH innovation we also received a grant and participated in an incubation program with Start-Up Chile. Just recently we were selected as one of the start-ups to be part of Ericsson Garage, Ericsson’s incubation program. We are two co-founders: Beatrice is leading the hardware development while Dora is in charge of design and running our business and operations. We are looking for a third technical team member (possibly co-founder) to lead the development of our software.
