At AmTrust International, we are committed to protecting your personal data and respecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how your personal information is collected, used, stored and shared when you apply for a role via our careers sites.
This Careers Site is managed in partnership by Join Talent our Recruitment Partner on behalf of AmTrust International. Both AmTrust International and Join Talent act as independent data controllersin respect of your personal data. This Privacy notice explains how your personal data is collected, used, and protected when you interact with the services jointly provided by:
- AmTrust International, with registered address at Exchequer Court, 33 St Mary Axe, London, EC3A 8AA
- Join Talent, with registered address at Townhead; St. Andrew Street, Brechin, Scotland, DD9 6JJ
(together referred to as “we,” “our,” or “the Controllers”), and
- Jobylon, with registered address at Sankt Eriksgatan 63B, 112 34, Stockholm, Sverige, acting as a data processor on behalf of the Controllers.
Join Talent as the primary data controller will be responsible for managing all personal data on this site and have responsibility for ensuring that the data processor conforms to all statutory standards and contractual agreements in terms of security of your personal data and how your personal data is used.
This means each party is responsible for how they process your personal data in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and other applicable data protection laws.
We are committed to ensuring that your personal data is processed fairly, lawfully, and transparently in accordance with applicable data protection laws.
2. Who We Are
Independent Data Controllers
AmTrust International or one of its subsidiaries (full list at www.amtrustinternational.com)as the end hirer, processes personal data of job applicants and candidates in order to:
·Define and communicate hiring requirements Join Talent;
·Review and assess candidate suitability for open positions;
·Conduct interviews, assessments, and background checks (where applicable);
·Make hiring decisions and issue employment offers;
·Onboard successful candidates into internal systems;
·Maintain records related to recruitment for legal or audit purposes.
Means of Processing:
·Receives candidate CVs and application data from Join Talent via secure platforms;
·Accesses recruitment platforms (e.g., ATS) to review candidate profiles, notes, and interview feedback;
·Uses email and/or video conferencing tools to schedule and conduct interviews;
·Collects and stores candidate-related documentation in internal HR or recruitment systems;
·May use third-party background screening providers where applicable.
Legal Basis for Processing:
·Performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b)) – where processing is necessary to take steps at the request of the data subject prior to entering into a contract (i.e., employment);
·Legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)) – to manage recruitment efficiently and ensure the selection of qualified personnel;
·Compliance with a legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c)) – for purposes such as right-to-work checks or equal opportunities monitoring (where required by law).
Join Talent as the RPO provider, processes personal data of job applicants and candidates in order to:
·Manage the end-to-end recruitment process on behalf of AmTrust International including sourcing, screening, and shortlisting candidates;
·Communicate with candidates throughout the recruitment lifecycle;
·Conduct initial assessments or interviews as part of pre-selection;
·Submit shortlisted candidates to AmTrust International for further review;
·Maintain a talent pool for current and future hiring needs (where consent is given);
·Monitor and report recruitment metrics to AmTrust International
Means of Processing:
·Collects candidate data via applications submitted online, recruitment events, or referrals;
·Stores and manages candidate information in Applicant Tracking System (ATS);
·Communicates with candidates by email, telephone, or video conferencing;
·Shares candidate profiles and relevant assessment data with AmTrust International through secure systems;
·Ensures appropriate records of candidate communications, consent (if required), and selection outcomes are maintained.
Legal Basis for Processing:
·Legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)) – to deliver contracted recruitment services efficiently and professionally, both to candidates and to [Controller A];
·Performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b)) – where processing is necessary to facilitate a potential employment relationship between the candidate and [Controller A];
·Consent (Article 6(1)(a)) – where the candidate has opted to join a talent pool or receive future job alerts.
Both controllers operate independently and are separately responsible for their compliance with data protection obligations. Join Talent ensures all candidate information shared with AmTrust International is handled lawfully and transparently.
Where we rely on consent, you have the right to withdraw it at any time.
Data Processor
- Jobylon processes data on behalf of one or both controllers under their explicit instructions and does not use the data for any other purpose.
3. What Personal Data is collected
When you apply for a job, we may collect and process the following categories of data:
- Name, address, and contact details (including email and phone number)
- CV and cover letter
- Employment history and qualifications
- Information about your skills, experience and suitability for the role
- Right to work documentation
- Interview notes and assessments
- Any additional information you voluntarily provide as part of the application process
2. How We Use Your Data
We use your data to:
- Process and manage your application
- Assess your suitability for current or future roles
- Communicate with you during the recruitment process
- Fulfil our legal and regulatory obligations
- Improve our recruitment processes
Your data will not be used for automated decision-making.
Use of a Data Processor
Jobylon processes data solely for:
- Hosting and IT services
- Customer support tools
- Secure data storage and backup
Jobylon is contractually bound to implement appropriate security measures and to process data only under the instructions of Join Talent.
4. Who We Share Your Data With
Your individual information may be shared with:
- Internal hiring managers and HR teams at AmTrust International
- HR/Talent Acquisition Representatives from AmTrust International
- Join Talent, as our Recruitment Partner
- Jobylon, the platform provider hosting our careers site
- Background check providers (if applicable and with your consent)
- Legal or regulatory bodies, if required by law
Any other data shared will be automatically anonymised i.e. Trend data.
We ensure that any third parties handling your data do so under strict contractual obligations to protect your privacy.
5. Data Retention
Your personal data will be retained only as long as necessary for recruitment purposes:
- If your application is unsuccessful, we will retain your data for up to 12 months after the recruitment process ends (unless you consent to a longer retention period for future opportunities).
- If you are hired, your data will form part of your employee record and will be retained according to our internal HR data retention policy.

Under UK GDPR, you have the following rights:
- To access the personal data we hold about you
- To request correction of any inaccurate data
- To request erasure of your data (subject to legal or contractual restrictions)
- To object to or restrict certain types of data processing
- To withdraw consent where we rely on it
