Global Compliance Specialist to Business Sweden

As Compliance Specialist, you will be part of Business Sweden’s Legal team and work closely with the Global Sustainability Team and the Compliance controller. You will be based at Business Sweden’s Headquarters in Stockholm, report to the CCO/Head of Legal and work with colleagues across the globe to identify and mitigate compliance risks.

Responsibilities

  • Your role will focus on promoting, driving, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws, governmental regulations, internal policies, and procedures. You support a culture of integrity by assisting in raising awareness and adherence of compliance-related matters throughout the organization.
  • Contribute to improvement and modernization of procedures, strategy, and structures for effective risk management, robust internal audit and control structures in cooperation with relevant support functions. This includes coordinating and administrating processes for development and update of internal policies and annual reporting.
  • Create a robust structure and handle general administrative support within the compliance area.
  • Support in training and communication activities to the organization and help in monitoring new relevant legislation.
  • Assist in conducting risk analyses and guide in necessary measures to prevent and reduce compliance risks in business operations and projects.
  • Work with process improvements with focus on digital solutions to streamline and simplify compliance procedures.

Skills & Requirements

Business Sweden is looking for a Compliance Specialist with a Master’s in Law (LLM) and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience working with similar topics related to compliance, preferably from a large industry company or from an international consultancy firm.

  • You likely have knowledge of one or several of the areas of compliance, governance, audits, and risk management.
  • You have experience from working in an international organization and preferably from working abroad.
  • Expertise in international frameworks such as OECD guidelines for multinational enterprises, UN Global Compact and the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Right and relevant compliance and policy regulations (AML, FCPA, GDPR, Data Protection Regulation, UK Bribery Act etc.) as well as familiar with new EU regulations such as CSRD and CSDDD is a merit.
  • Administration and Project management skills and experience from reporting progress and procedures, including conducting sustainability reports, is relevant for the role.
  • Expertise and understanding of compliance risks in companies’ supply and value chains and experience of process improvements to reduce risks is positive.
  • Proficiency in both English and Swedish is a requirement.

  • A strong focus on being proactive and taking initiative for development and improvements.
