As we prepare to begin commercial production of our industry leading battery cells, we are now expanding our Testing & Validation team at our hi-tech Battery Research Center in Southern Norway.

Are you an experienced Research Scientist currently working within the battery industry for Testing and Validation?

We can offer you an integral role, providing support to our talented international R&D team, bringing your experience in Li-ion battery testing and data analysis, ensuring the validation and qualification of our safe, long-lasting, high-performance cells. Working closely with our Global customers and partners you will be confident in delivering presentations, approaching challenges with bold solutions and bringing a passion for developing battery technologies of the future.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Participate within a team of electrochemistry engineers and technicians supporting electrochemical characterization of Li-ion cell technology.
  • Provide Electrochemical expertise related to battery technologies, so measurement techniques can evolve to capture market value.
  • Understanding and differentiating the effect of the cathode and anode materials has at cell level on the performance.
  • Study the effect of differing external conditions on cell performance, the cycle life and calendar life.
  • Analyzing, characterizing, and reporting test data, with target deliverable to improve product quality.
  • Engaging in continued improvement of in-house research projects, supporting advanced development activities.
  • Collect battery lifecycle test data, perform preliminary analysis, and communicate results/insights to the team

Skills & Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Master’s or PhD within Electrochemistry or Materials Chemistry.
  • More than 3 years of experience of Li-ion battery data analysis.
  • Spec Industrial experience of batteries or other electrochemical energy storage device
  • Skilled in various electrochemical techniques such as impedance spectroscopy (EIS), cyclic voltammetry (CV), HPPC etc.
  • Have an interest in electrochemistry and Li-ion batteries.
  • Excellent communication and organisation skills
  • Highly confident in data analysis and presentation
